Neelam Kapur[IIS] Takes over as Director General, Sports Authority of India
Ms. Neelam Kapur has taken over as Director General, Sports Authority of India today.
An Indian Information Service officer of 1982 batch, she has earlier handled important assignments in National Aids Control Organisation (NACO) and headed Directorate of Film Festivals, Directorate of Audio Visual Publicity (DAVP) and Directorate of Field Publicity(DFP).
During her stint in PIB as Principal Director General, Ms. Neelam Kapur was head of media operations for CommonWealth Games held in New Delhi in 2010.

[New Delhi] Govt Upgrades Post Of DG SAI to Apex Scale & Post Smt Neelam Kapur
Post of DG SAI has been upgraded to Apex Scale and Senior IIS Officer Smt Neelam kapur has been adjusted .She is the first IIS Officer On This Post, Previously IAS offier were always Selected for This SAI post
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Smt. Neelam Kapur, IIS (1982), as Director General, Sports Authority of India, by upgrading the post to the Apex scale, till her superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
