पंजाब के वरिष्ठ कांग्रेसी नेताओं ने अश्वनी शर्मा को चेतावनी दी कि वह निंदनीय और अनुचित व्यवहार अपनाकर मर्यादा की हदें पार न करें।
वरिष्ठ कैबिनेट मंत्री ब्रह्म मोहिन्द्रा, भारत भूषण आशु, विजय इंदर सिंगला, ओ.पी. सोनी और सुंदर शाम अरोड़ा ने राज्य के चोटी के पुलिस अधिकारी के विरुद्ध दोष लगाने के लिए अश्वनी शर्मा की निंदा की और कहा कि यह घटिया हथकंडे बी.जी.पी. की छिन चुकी साख को बचाने में बिल्कुल भी सहायक नहीं होंगे।
मंत्रियों ने कहा ‘‘आप हमारे किसानों की खालिस्तानियों, अर्बन नक्सलियों और लैफ्ट समर्थकीय के साथ तुलना की है और आगे कहा कि लोगों की आवाज़ को दबाना बी.जे.पी की हमेशा से आदत रही है, परन्तु पंजाब में उनके यह घटिया हत्थकंडे काम नहीं करेंगे, क्योंकि किसानों ने उनकी घटिया चालों और खोखले वायदों को अच्छी तरह से जान लिया है।

The Punjab Education Department has issued an order to change the timings of all the Govt, private, aided and recognised Primary, Middle, High and Senior Secondary Schools in the state.
Punjab Education Minister O.P. Soni said that to ensure that our children are kept safe from intense fog and harsh weather conditions, The changed timings will be immediately effective till further orders.
