[New Delhi]PM Of India Greets Neighbouring Headache Pakistan But Forgets To Tribute Millions Killed on its Independence Day
Prime Minister Of India Narendra Modi today greeted Pakistan on its Independence Day, notwithstanding the chill between the two countries in the wake of recent attacks in Punjab+J&K
PM Tweeted
“Greetings & good wishes to the people of Pakistan on their Independence Day,”
His greetings came in the midst of chill between the two countries in the wake of terror attacks at Gurdaspur in Punjab and Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir.
The terrorists, who struck at these two places, had infiltrated from Pakistan. One of the terrorists was caught alive in the Udhampur attack.
The relations between the two countries suffered another blow recently with Pakistan refusing to invite Jammu and Kashmir assembly speaker to a conference of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, in protest to which India decided to boycott the meet to be held in Islamabad from September 30 to October 8.
Apart From This National Security Advisors of India and Pakistan will hold talks on terrorism- related issues for the first time on August 23 in New Delhi which Islamabad sees as an “ice-breaking” step though not a breakthrough. Speculation that Pakistan was dilly-dallying on the talks ended today with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif”s Advisor on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaz Aziz announcing in Islamabad that “Yes, I can confirm it that I will be going to India on (August) 23rd for talks.”
