Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in view of the delay in setting up of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) in the state capital.
In the letter, Yadav asked the Prime Minister to facilitate approval of the estimate for the purpose and also direct officials to complete formalities for appointing full time director
Pointing out that the Union Human Resources Development Ministry had given approval for providing partial funds for the purpose, he said the state government has already provided land free of cost for the institute and also made budgetary provisions.
He also highlighted that the detailed project report (DPR) and the estimate of the project have been made available to the HRD ministry and as per the decision of the governing body the process of inviting tenders has been completed.
The Chief Minister said the final approval to the estimate was still awaited because of which the project was being delayed,
Besides, Yadav pointed out that the process for selection of full time director has not been completed because of which proper monitoring and other works related to the institute were being adversely affected,

AIADMK has 37 members in the Lok Sabha and 11 in the Upper House.
In a significant gesture seen in the the backdrop of the NDA’s push to garner support for its key economic reforms bills in Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today called on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa at her Poes Garden residence.
Though Jayalalithaa was not present during the launch of the National Handloom Day celebrations at the University of Madras here, state Finance Minister O Panneerselvam read out her speech that warmly welcomed Modi.
Earlier in day, Jayalalithaa had welcomed Modi at the airport.
During his address, the Prime Minister also thanked “Dr Jayalalithaa”, the state government and the people of Tamil Nadu for successfully organising the event.
From the function venue, the Prime Minister drove straight to the Chief Minister’s residence. She warmly welcomed him at the doorstep.
During the discussions, she is understood to have taken up issues concerning Tamil Nadu including inter-state river disputes with Karnataka and Kerala and presented a memorandum.
The meeting assumes significance in the wake of AIADMK’s broad support to the Modi government on the NDA’s controversial Land Acquisition Bill in the Lok Sabha although Jayalalithaa had raised some reservations on it citing farmers’ concerns ahead of its passage in the Rajya Sabha.

On the 40th anniversary of the Emergency, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said a vibrant liberal democracy is the key to progress and that everything should be done to strengthen democratic ideals and ethos.

“We mark 40 years of one of India’s darkest periods- the Emergency, when the then political leadership trampled over our democracy,” .
“A vibrant liberal democracy is the key to progress. Let us do everything possible to further strengthen our democratic ideals & ethos,” he said.
P M Modi recalled that lakhs of people had resisted the Emergency declared by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on this day in 1975.
He said “We are very proud of the lakhs of people, who resisted the Emergency & whose efforts ensured that our democratic fabric is preserved,”
Referring to Jaiprakash Narain.Modi said
,”Inspired by the call of JP, several men & women across India selflessly immersed themselves in the movement to safeguard our democracy,”
PM said the Emergency brings back many memories and that youngsters had learnt a lot during the anti-Emergency movement.
“Personally, the Emergency brings back many memories. As youngsters, we learnt a lot during the anti-Emergency movement.
“Emergency was a great opportunity to work with a wide spectrum of leaders & organisations fighting for the same goal- return of democracy,”
The Emergency was lifted only after two years in the wake of widespread mass movement.

This appointment comes as a birthday gift for Kumar who will turn 60 on May 27. But, instead of retirement, now he will have a two-year tenure.
He Is the man who was leading Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ initiative in the defence sector
Belonging to the 1979 batch of IAS, Odisha Cadre, Kumar is a post-graduate in Chemistry and earned his MBA in the UK.
He has worked in various ministries and departments including Steel, Water Resources, Rural Development, Fisheries, Export Development and VAT Administration.
His predecessor R K Mathur laid down his office yesterday.
Kumar, a Keralite, was the Secretary, Defence Production since September 1, 2014 before taking over as the Defence Secretary.
He was the key man in working out the policies and framework for ‘Make in India’ initiative in the defence sector.
Meanwhile, Ashok Kumar Gupta (1981- batch Tamilnadu Cadre) who was special secretary in the Department of Defence Production today took over as the new Secretary, (Defence Production) succeeding Kumar.
He is a post-graduate in Public Administration from Syracuse University (the US) and holds an M Phill degree in Defence & Strategic studies from Madras University

२१ जून को अंतराष्ट्रीय योग दिवस मनाने के लिए भारत सरकार ने आज लोगो लांच किया |
केन्द्रीय विदेश मंत्री श्रीमती सुषमा स्वराज और आयुष राज्य मंत्री (स्वतंत्र प्रभार) श्री श्रीपद नायक ने आज अंतर्राष्ट्रीय योग दिवस के लिए ‘लोगो’ लांच किया। जिसका आयुष मंत्रालय द्वारा गठित योग विशेषज्ञों की समिति द्वारा चयन किया गया है और प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदीद्वारा अनुमोदित किया गया है।
इस अवसर पर श्री नायक ने कहा कि देश 21 जून, 2015 को पहला अंतर्राष्ट्रीय योग दिवस मनायेगा। विश्वभर में विभिन्न कार्यक्रम आयोजित किये जाएंगे। गौरतलब है कि अंतर्राष्ट्रीय योग दिवस के लिए 177 देश सह-प्रायोजक है और विश्व के 193 देशों में इसे मनाया जाएगा।
योग चूंकि चिकित्सा के छेत्र में भी अहम भूमिका निभाता है| बाबा रामदेव +श्री श्री रवि शंकर सरीखे योग गुरु आये दिन रोग मुक्त जीवन के लिए योग की सिफारिश करते है |ऐसे में जाहिर है भारत में मेडिकल टूरिज्म कि अपर संभावनाएं हैं लेकिन दुर्भाग्य वश इस दिशा में फिलहाल कोई काम होता नही दिख रहा|
संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने २१ जून को अंतराष्ट्रीय “योग” दिवस की घोषणा की है यह भारत के प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के आग्रह पर किया गया है|भारत चूंकि योग का केंद्र माना जाता है इसीलिए यहां योग चिकित्सा पर्यटकों के आगमन की पूरी संभावनाएं दिखती है
लेकिन दुर्भाग्य से पूरे देश में मात्र ७ योग चिकित्सालय हैं|कर्नाटका में तीन +के अलावा छत्तीसगढ़ +राजस्थान+तमिल नाडु+अंडमान एंड निकोबार में एक एक योग चिकित्सालय है| भारत सरकार ने केंद्र प्रायोजित योजना राष्ट्रीय आयुष मिशन (नेशनल आयुष मिशन) को 29-9-2014 को अधिसूचित और अनुमोदित किया है। इनमें आयुष सेवाओं के कई तत्व शामिल हैं, जैसे राज्यों और केंद्रशासित प्रदेशों में 50 बिस्तरों वाले आयुष अस्पतालों की स्थापना।
36 राज्यों में ३६०१ अस्पताल हैं इनमे आयुर्वेद के २८२७ अस्पताल हैं +यूनानी अस्पतालों की संख्या २५२ बताई गई है +सिद्ध पद्धति के २६४ अस्पताल हैं इनमे से २६१ केवल तमिल नाडु राज्य में ही हैं |२१६ अस्पताल होमियोपैथी के हैं |सौआ रिग्बा पद्धति का केवल एक मात्र हिमाचल प्रदेश में ही हैं +प्राकृतिक चिकित्सालय ३४ बताये गए हैं
