[Chandigarh,Punjab] Punjab Govt Enhances Gallantry Awards: Rs 2 Cr For ParamVir/Ashok ChakraPunjab Cabinet Toady decided to enhance the lump sum amount of Gallantry and Posthumous awardees next of the kin
The award money of
Param Vir Chakra/ Ashok Chakra awardees has been increased to Rs 2 Crore from Rs 30 lakh,
of Maha Vir Chakra and Kirti Chakra to Rs one crore from Rs 20 lakh and of
Vir Chakra / Shaurya Chakra to Rs 50 lakh from Rs 15 lakh.
Similarly the winners of Sena, Nau Sena, Vayu Sena Medal winners will get Rs 14 lakh against present Rs 7 lakh while the Mention-in-Dispatch recipients will get Rs 10 lakh against the present amount of Rs 5 lakh.

The Cabinet approved the proposal of Department of Food & Civil Supplies for setting up ‘Integrated Foodgrain Management Project’ at Seron village in Tarn Taran.
Under it the government would set up processing capacity, scientific storage such as silos, a state-of-art laboratory and modern scientific godowns,

The Cabinet gave its nod to extend city bus service in the cities not covered so far.
The service already exists within the municipal limits of
Amritsar, Ludhiana, and Jalandhar.
The buses would operate within the municipal limits of these cities as well as up to 10 km adjoining area.
