Punjab’s Dy CM Sukhbir Calls AAP a Tomfoolery

[Chandigarh,Punjab] Punjab’s Dy CM Sukhbir Calls AAP a Tomfoolery
Sukhbir Singh Badal Accuses AAP of “Befooling” People of Punjab
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Badal today accused AAP of “befooling” people of Punjab on SYL canal issue in order to secure votes in the wake of 2017 assembly polls.
Sukhbir said in a statement .”Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led Delhi government is indulging in deceitful tactics by stating it wanted water for Delhi but leaving it to Punjab and Haryana to fight over the SYL canal,”
He said filing of affidavits in the Supreme Court was nothing but a “political ploy to befool” Punjabis and secure their votes in the 2017 assembly elections.
The Delhi government has in its revised affidavit filed in the Supreme Court said it is only concerned about continuing to get its share of river waters as per the 1976 notification.
“This notification led to the construction of the SYL canal. So effectively the Delhi government wants water to flow through this canal even though it has present water supply arrangement with Haryana”,
Asking Kejriwal to end this “double game”, Badal said “you cannot keep playing cat and mouse forever. Punjabis just want you to answer a simple question. Are you in favour of construction of the SYL canal or not? This answer will determine whether you are in favour of the Punjabi farmer or against him”,
Sukbir said Kejriwal first claimed that he was against construction of the SYL canal when on a visit to Sultanpur Lodhi in Punjab.
Kejriwal, however, on reaching Delhi took a U turn and said everyone should get water, meaning his native State Haryana should get water from the SYL canal,
The SAD president said if the AAP government was really sincere towards Punjabi farmers it should pass a resolution in its assembly supporting the stand taken by Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal on the SYL canal.

Dy CM Badal,Making Mockery of CM Kejriwal’s Punjab Tour,Calls It “Nautanki”

[Ludhiana,Punjab]Kejriwal doing drama: Dy CM Badal
Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today lashed out at Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal describing his five day ongoing visit to the state as “Nautanki” (drama).
“Kejriwal did not bother to visit Haryana where he belongs to when the state is burning because of Jat reservation agitation,” Sukhbir said adding in Punjab he is “shedding crocodile tears” at the houses of some farmers who committed suicides years ago.
He alleged the Kejriwal government has “totally failed” in Delhi where they had only spent or earmarked crores of money for self advertisement programmes.
Kejriwal had promised to install 2 lakh CCTV cameras for safety of the city there but had installed only two hundred of them, Sukhbir alleged.
“Now he is trying to be fool the people of Punjab in the name of Aam Admi of whom he was least bothered,” Sukhbir said.
Sukhbir said that he was neither “panicky” nor did he “lack confidence” in suggesting that Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal would lead the Akali BJP alliance at the next state assembly elections and form the government.”Working under Badal s leadership was like a lesson at Harvard University,” Sukhbir said.
He also scotched all rumours of any break in the Akali BJP alliance and described it as as an alliance for the state which would never see any divorce.
In Chandigarh, SAD Secretary and Punjab Education Minister Daljit Singh Cheema alleged that the language used by Kejriwal against the Akalis is “highly derogatory, condemnable and amounts to a personal attack” on each and every worker of the Shiromani Akali Dal.
Had Kejriwal been little bit aware of the Akali/Sikh history he would not have “committed this blunder” of calling the “real lions” as “gidders” (wolfs), he said.
Cheema told Kejriwal to stop using such “insulting, abusive and inflammatory” language and urged him to tender an unconditional public apology.
Making mockery of Kejriwal’s claim on “removing corruption” from Punjab if AAP is voted to power within two months, the SAD leader said that it was surprising that “corruption” was “flourishing” under his government in Delhi and “surpassed even the previous record” but he is making “tall and hollow” promises to Punjabis only to lure them to vote for the AAP.

Capt. Amarinder Warns SAD Govt. For Heritage “KUA”University

[Amritsar,Punjab]Capt. Amarinder Warns SAD Govt. For Amritsar’sHeritage Khalsa University
Congress Chief Captain Amarinder Singh today claimed Majithia family is trying to “usurp and dilute” the heritage status of the Khalsa College here by converting it into a private university and asked the state government not to use its “brute majority” to take steps favouring the move.If They Do It Through Aact Then Congress government will repeal the act in 2017 and restore the heritage status of the college,”
Notably, the Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) had announced to set up Khalsa University Amritsar (KUA) to provide “quality education” to students.
The Governing council, led by KCGC President Satyajit Singh Majithia, has come under fire after it proposed to set up a Khalsa University Amritsar.
“Khalsa College is the part of our great heritage and history and not the private property of the Majithias to be usurped”, he alleged.
Recalling his family’s and his personal association with the Khalsa College, Amritsar, the former Punjab Chief Minister said, while his grandfather Maharaja Bhupinder Singh and father Maharaja Yadvinder Singh were its chancellors from 1927 to 1952, he was himself its Chancellor between 1972 and 1978.
“It is not me or my family alone, every Punjabi has a sentimental association with Khalsa College, which is one of the exceptional symbols of our great and glorious heritage and the Majithias for their petty interests are trying to usurp it which will not be allowed at any cost,”

A Delhi court has spared a man the jail term for carrying a live cartridge in the form of a key ring in his luggage at the domestic wing of Indira Gandhi International Airport , saying he did not intend to use it for any unlawful purpose.
The court, while acquitting the man, also said that no firearm was recovered from his possession and culpability of the accused has not been proved.
Metropolitan Magistrate Pankaj Sharma said”The court, after careful scrutiny of the evidence, does not see any evidence showing culpability of accused… it can be said that accused never intended to use the cartridge for any illegal purpose but kept the same for using it as a key ring.
