पूर्व आईपीएस अधिकारी बृजलाल ने राष्ट्रपति के भाषण के समर्थन में बोलते हुए कानून व्यवस्था को खिलौना बना कर खेलने वाले पॉलिटिशियन्स पर भी तीखी टिप्पणी की।अपने सम्बोधन में पूर्व डी जी पी ने नरेंद्रमोदी की सरकार में अनुसूचित जाति जनजाति के कल्याण के लिए उठाए गए कदमों की भी सराहना की
बृजलाल वर्तमान में उत्तर प्रदेश से राज्यसभा के सांसद हैं। वे उत्तर प्रदेश अनुसूचित जाति और जनजाति आयोग के अध्यक्ष हैं। भारतीय पुलिस सेवा के उत्तर प्रदेश कैडर के अधिकारी बृजलाल पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री मायावती के शासनकाल में पहले सहायक पुलिस महानिदेशक कानून व्यवस्था और फिर पुलिस महानिदेशक भी रहे। उन्हें अक्टूबर 2011 में प्रदेश का डीजीपी बनाया था और वे नवंबर 2014 में सेवा निवृत्त हुए थे। 2015 में उन्होंने राजनीति में आने का फैसला लिया और बहुजन समाज पार्टी का दामन छोड़कर भारतीय जनता पार्टी में आ गए।

केंद्रीय कृषि एवं कल्याण मंत्री नरेंद्र सिंह तोमर ने शुक्रवार को राज्यसभा में नए कृषि कानूनों का बचाव करते हुए इन्हें किसानों के जीवन में क्रातिकारी बदलाव लाने वाला करार दिया। साथ ही उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि नए कानूनों को लेकर लोगों को बरगलाया जा रहा है और मौजूदा आंदोलन सिर्फ एक राज्य का मामला है।
उन्होंने कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी और सरकार किसानों के कल्याण के लिए प्रतिबद्ध हैं और नए कानूनों का मकसद किसानों की आय में वृद्धि करना है।
तोमर ने नए कृषि कानूनों के खिलाफ किसानों के आंदोलन को एक राज्य का मसला बताया और कहा कि नए कानूनों में ऐसे कोई प्रावधान नहीं हैं जिनसे किसानों की जमीन छिन जाने का खतरा हो।
तोमर ने राज्यसभा में राष्ट्रपति अभिभाषण पर पेश धन्यवाद प्रस्ताव पर हुयी चर्चा में हस्तक्षेप करते हुए कहा कि विपक्षी नेता नए कानूनों को काला कानून बता रहे हैं लेकिन वे यह नहीं बता रहे हैं कि इसमें गड़बड़ी क्या है।
कृषि मंत्री ने कहा कि वह पिछले दो महीनों से किसान यूनियनों से सवाल कर रहे हैं कि वे बताएं कि कानून में ‘काला’ क्या है?

Rebel MLAs had opposed the nomination of BSP’s official candidate Ramji Gautam for the elections to the Rajya Sabha.
Mayawati also said that to ensure defeat of Samajwadi Party candidates in future MLC elections, her party will vote for BJP or any other party’s candidate.
The former UP chief minister said as soon as the rebel MLAs join any party, the BSP would take action against them under the anti-defection law.
In a jolt to the BSP on Wednesday, six party MLAs reportedly met Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and later threw hints that they may switch sides.
Four of the group of rebels also filed an affidavit, saying their signatures on the party candidate Gautam’s nomination for the Rajya Sabha polls had been forged .

सत्तारूढ़ राष्ट्रीय जनतांत्रिक गठबंधन के उम्मीदवार और जद (यू) के वरिष्ठ नेता हरिवंश सोमवार को दोबारा राज्यसभा के उपसभापति चुने गए।
उनके सभापति चुने जाने के बाद प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी, सदन में विपक्ष के नेता गुलाम नबी आजाद, राजद के मनोज झा और विभिन्न दलों के नेताओं ने हरिवंश को बधाई दी और नए कार्यकाल के लिए शुभकामनाएं दीं। प्रधानमंत्री मोदी सहित अधिकतर नेताओं ने सदन चलाने की उनकी शैली की सराहना की।
विपक्ष ने राजद नेता मनोज झा को उपसभापति पद के लिए अपना संयुक्त उम्मीदवार बनाया था।
सत्तारूढ़ सदस्यों और विपक्ष के प्रस्तावों के बाद सभापति एम वेंकैया नायडू ने ध्वनिमत के आधार पर हरिवंश को निर्वाचित करने की घोषणा की।

The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were shut on March 24 after both houses were adjourned sine die following the passage of the Finance Bill for 2020-21, bringing a premature end to the budget session of Parliament, which was slated to conclude on April 3.
Besides them, the other staff will work on a rotational basis.

Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh sought leave from Rajya Sabha citing ill health, which has been granted by the House.
This was mentioned by Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu in the House on Monday.
He further said the former prime minister has requested for grant of leave of absence from March 19.
The House later approved the leave.
The Rajya Sabha will be adjourned sine die on Monday in view of the coronavirus outbreak, Naidu announced in the House. The Budget Session was scheduled to continue till April 3.

Opposition Congress on Wednesday raised in Rajya Sabha the order of the telecom department seeking huge call data records in cities such as Delhi, saying it was tantamount to converting India into a surveillance state.
Congress Deputy Leader in the Upper House Anand Sharma gave a notice under Rule 267 seeking adjournment of business of the day to discuss the move but Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu converted it into a Zero Hour mention.
Sharma said under the new guidelines framed by the previous UPA government, after clearance from the Home Secretary, officers of the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP) and above alone were authorised to seek such details from telecom operators.
In addition to this, SPs are required to give a mandatory declaration to District Magistrates (DMs) about the CDRs obtained every month.
Responding to the issue, Law and Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said with approval and cooperation of telecom operators, CDR had been sought to deal with call drop issue.
“I want to assure that there is no surveillance, no phone tapping, no call recording,” he said, adding there is no invasion of privacy.

Participating in the discussion on the Union Budget 2020-21 in Rajya Sabha, Ravi Prakash Verma said health allocation should be enhanced from 2.3 per cent of GDP to 5 per cent.
“If you don’t increase your health expenditure you will be defeated after doing everything,”
Referring to Coronavirus outbreak in China, he said what is happening in the neighbouring country cannot be taken lightly and mentioned 2011 Hollywood movie ‘Contagion’ which was based on a similar crisis.
“Health issues could lead to collapse of the economy,” he said.
“Pharma companies’ lobby is active in ministry,” he alleged, but did not elaborate.
He cautioned that 11 crore toilets were built using soakpit method that will contaminate water.
