Plea against newly appointed UP DGP sent to HC bench
The petitioner Has sought a direction for removal of Javeed from this post.
Allahabad High Court today directed that a writ petition questioning the appointment of Uttar Pradesh director general of police Javeed Ahmad by the state government be put up before a bench related to service matter cases tomorrow.
A Lucknow bench of justices Amreshwar Pratap Sahi and Attau Rahman Masoodi gave the order on the petition by activist Nutan Thakur.
Petitioner’s counsel Ashok Pandey has alleged that Ahmad was appointed superseding 13 IPS officers from the UP cadre when eight of them were available to the state government for consideration,
He claimed that the step was not in line with the Supreme Court ruling.
For the state government, Advocate General Vijay Bahadur Singh along with Additional Advocate General Bulbul Godiyal and Chief Standing Counsel Mansoor Ahmad appeared.

S Javeed Ahmad[IPS] Is New Director General Of Police Of UP

{Lucknow,UP}S Javeed Ahmad Is New DGP Of UP .He Succeeds Jagmohan Yadav
Uttar Pradesh government today appointed 1984 batch IPS officer S Javeed Ahmad as the new Director General of Police.
Javeed Ahmad who was posted as DG Railways has been made the new DGP of the state, Principal Secretary Home Devashish Panda said.
Talking to media after his appointment, DGP Javeed Ahmad said he would lead the force with full honesty and dedication.
“With the help of constables, inspectors and higher officials I will work towards restoring the confidence in the police force”, he said, adding that efforts would be made to inculcate a feeling in them that they have to do something good for the state.
Javeed Ahmad succeeds Jagmohan Yadav who retired after completing 32 years of distinguished service yesterday.
Yadav was 1983 batch Indian Police Service officer and appointed as the DGP in July last year.
