NAPA Issues List Of Stranded Punjabis In Iraq,Urge American Govt For Immediate Intervention

NAPA Has Issued A List Of Abducted Punjabi Workers In Iraq And Urged The American Law Makers For Immediate Intervention
North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) urged the Obama administration to intervene into the release of abducted Punjabi workers in Iraq. In a different letters written to several US Lawmakers including members of the US congress and US Senate Satnam Singh Chahal executive director of the Association appealed to them to put pressure on Obama administration and to use their office to immediately intervene for the release of Stranded Punjabi workers in Iraq.
Chahal while expressing solidarity with the families of these stranded workers said that Indian American community is worried about the security of the Punjabi workers and is expressing its concern and great resentment about the missing of 40 Punjabi workers and several nurses in Iraq.
Chahal said that Rescue operation is not enough and satisfactory to save these Punjabi workers from the clutches of Terrorists Said Chahal. Why the protector of immigrants New Delhi gave permission to these Punjabi workers to work in Iraq when there is no security of life in Iraq .questioned Chahal.

NAPA Is Regularly Hammering The Issue Of Detainees of Indian Origin In U S A /Elpaso -Texas This Time Legal Rights Of Detainees Are Demanded .
This time ,Executive Director of North America Punjabi Association[ NAPA] Satnam Singh Chahal has written letter to Assistant Field Office Director Of U.S.Deartment of Homeland Security,Jesus.J. Placencia In this letter Various complaints From Detainees are raised.
Satnam Singh Chahal Writes ” I would like to bring it to your notice that most of the detainees of Indian origin in your center are calling me everyday complaining that they are not only being discriminated in the Center but authorities are also bullying them every day and every time.They named one security officer inside the detention center as Mr D.Gomez who is always bullying them.Similarly these detainees are also complaining that the behaviour of other Deportation officers towards them is very painful.On the top of this they are complaining that authorities are forcing them to sign on papers which they do not want to sign.As per my conversation with the detainees I am told that most of the detainees are going to appeal in the High Court and detention center authorities are threatening them not to appeal in the court”

Satnam Singh Chahal executive director Of North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) has written letters to chief minister of Punjab sardar Prakash Singh Badal and All NRIs Associations in the State to stop illegal human smuggling [KabootarBazi] from Punjab to different European countries
In These Letters Chahal has alleged that Punjab is known as a hub of illegal human smuggling which is happening under the nose of government authorities.
These travel and immigration agents who are luring over several Punjabi youths with dreams of settling in the US are now behind bars. To seek a strict action against these immigration and travel agents Chahal said that these youths were arrested on different time, date and locations while entering illegally to US Border and are now detained in prisons in the different part of United States for the past few months. Out of these Punjabi detainees some are being release on bond and others are being deported back to India.
It is estimated that 15,000 to 25,000 Punjabis contribute to this flourishing business each year by paying Rs 25-30 lakhs on the promise of greener pastures therefore Punjab has become the hub of this Rs 12,000-crore trafficking racket.”

NAPA Demands Immediate Release Of 100 Punjabi youth From El Paso detention facility In Accordance With ICE Directives NAPA Has Demanded Immediate Release Of 100 Punjabi youth From El Paso detention facility.
North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) is calling higher authorities of US Immigration and Custom enforcement (ICE) for an investigation into the detention of around 100 Punjabi youth at an El Paso detention facility.
In a separate letters sent to US Law makers and Mr Thomas S. Winooski Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Satnam Singh Chahal executive director of NAPA said that as per the ICE directive number 11002.1 which is effective from January 04, 2010 those detained Punjabi youths in ELPASO Jail who qualify under section 8.2 onwards of this directive should be released on Parole or bond as soon as possible. Chahal said that these Punjabi detainee’s everyday calling us that I.C.E.authorities determined their identity, nationality and they are also not a threat to national security.
While sending a copy of this director along with all the letters NAPA seek release of those 100 Punjabi detainees in ELPASO Processing center who are detained more than six months and are qualify for humanitarian release on parole or bond .Chahal said that although overwhelming number of immigrant detention centers are privately owned and operated, but the El Paso Processing Center is run by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) department where they can decide the fate of these Punjabi detainees on humanitarian ground at the earliest. Chahal recalled the authorities that Parents and family members of these detainees are suffering with great mental torture due to the detention of these boys and also cleared the air to all authorities concerned that NAPA is not seeking the release of those detainees who had any kind of criminal record or have no identification and proof of Nationality. Chahal also disclosed that they are consulting with the Legal advocates to file Habeas Petitions in courts jointly using reference of Casas-Castrillon and Diouf case decision.
