BJP MLA Sangeet Som, an accused in Muzaffarnagar riots, has been accorded Z category security by the Centre, This security that came under scathing attack from Opposition today which termed it as a cruel joke with the Riot victims.He is the second BJP leader who has been accorded this privilege in less than two months Previously home ministry had provided the same security cover to BJP chief Amit Shah.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Also Has demanded that the union home ministry should recover the cost of providing Z category Privilege to This accused.
The AAP also demands that the home ministry should make public the threat perception, based on which it has been decided to provide high security to both Shah+Som.
Aap party Says That There is nothing wrong in government providing adequate security to those who face genuine threats due to their service to the nation, but misuse of power to satisfy the ego of political leaders facing serious criminal charges is completely unacceptable.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) takes strong exception to mischievious and misleading news reports in a section of the media that its party convenor Arvind Kejriwal had accepted Z category of security when he was the chief minister of Delhi.
It is shocking that the said report attributed to unnamed sources has disregarded facts and relied on fiction apparently at the behest of Ministry of Home Affairs and Delhi Police.
In A Press Release It Is Stated ” Arvind Kejriwal has consistently refused to accept any such category of security since he became the chief minister on December 28, 2013, and his written statements have been in public domain as well as with the top Police brass.
The AAP condemns repeated attempts by a section of the media, including some newspapers and TV channels to run stories with the sole intention of twisting facts to mint unnecessary controversies with the sole intention of diverting attention from the pro-people issues being raised by the party leadership.”The AAP has now demanded that the Indian Express which has claimed Arvind Kejriwal accepted Z category of security should put in public domain the letter of acceptance to substantiate its claim, since the fact is that whenever the central government or Delhi Police made the offer to Kejriwal, he repeatedly put it on record that he did not require any such security.
The said story which refers to home ministry and Delhi Police also raises an important question about the real intention of these authorities, who have been changing their stand consistently on the issue according to their convenience.
The real intention behind this motivated campaign appears to be highly suspect. By giving credence to unsubstantiated news reports, the MHA and Delhi Police only appear to be encouraging unwanted elements to take advantage of the situation at this delicate timing when the Lok Sabha election campaign is underway.
The AAP Has appealed to its volunteers and the public to ignore such campaigns and continue to focus on the real issues of corruption, communalism, dynastic politics and criminalisation during the coming elections.
