[New Delhi]DDA to Boost Sale Of Commercial Plots By engaging two valuers for fixation of reserve price
In the wake of most of its commercial plots not getting disposed in the last few years, DDA has decided to engage two independent valuers for fixation of reserve price.
“The Price Fixation Committee will engage two independent valuers and the higher of the reserve prices recommended by the two will be the reserve price,” the DDA said.
The decision was taken during the Authority meeting of the urban body today.
“It has been observed for over the last 2-5 years that DDA has not been able to dispose of most of its commercial plots.
As per feedback the disposal was found to be hindered due to high reserve price fixed by DDA,” it said in a statement.
The issue of properties located in 22 Nazul Estates like Paharganj, Karol Bagh, among others, where the properties are being used for purposes other than prescribed use was also discussed in the Authority meeting.

मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्रालय ने आज उन खबरों का खंडन किया जिनके अनुसार यूंजीसी को भंग किये जाने की बात की जा रही है |मंत्रालय ने स्पष्टीकरण देते हुए कहा कि यूजीसी का गठन संसद के एक अधिनियम के द्वारा किया गया था और इसे एकपक्षीय तरीके से भंग नहीं किया जा सकता।इसीलिए कुछ समाचार माध्यमों में छपी खबर कि यूजीसी को भंग किया जा रहा है, गलत और अवांछित है।मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्री ने बताया कि अपेक्षित लक्ष्य को प्राप्त करने और बेहतर प्रदर्शन करने की दिशा में यूजीसी को मजबूत बनाने तथा इसके पुनर्गठन की अनुशंसा करने के लिए अनुभवी और विख्यात शिक्षाविदों की एक समिति का गठन किया था। डॉ. हरि गौतम की अध्यक्षता में समिति ने अपनी रिपोर्ट सचिव (उच्चतर शिक्षा) को सौंप दी थी। इस रिपोर्ट की अभी मंत्रालय में जांच की जानी है। समिति को विश्लेषण करने, समीक्षा करने तथा मंत्रालय को अनुशंसा करने के अधिकार दिये गए थे। मंत्रालय इसकी बारीकी से जांच करने के बाद इस पर अपनी राय बनाएगा। इस प्रकार, यूजीसी को भंग करने का कोई ऐसा निर्णय नहीं लिया गया है और इस मामले में कोई भी निर्णय लेने से पहले अनुशंसाओं को समझना तथा उसका विश्लेषण करना बाकी है।

Budget carrier SpiceJet has made a part payment of its dues to the state-run Airports Authority of India (AAI) and also signed an agreement with aircraft leasing firm BBAM to settle out of court the dispute over Boeing rentals.
“SpiceJet has paid a part payment of Rs 25 crore to the Airports Authority of India towards the dues it had accumulated due to the cash crunch last year,
Air line has entered into an in-principle understanding with its five lessors managed by BBAM Aircraft Leasing and Finance with regard to five aircraft operated by the company,” SpiceJet said in a regulatory filing today.
Under the understanding, the lessors have agreed to suspend court proceedings, including winding these up, and the de-registration process of aircraft, subject to SpiceJet satisfying the terms of settlement and parties executing definitive agreements, the airline said.
SpiceJet was dragged to court by several aircraft leasing firms including BBAM after it had failed to pay rentals for some of its Boeing 737 aircraft due to financial crunch last year.
A single judge bench of the high court had on March 19 directed the DGCA to de-register six Boeing 737 aircraft given to the carrier.
But on March 23, another of its lessors Wilmington Trust SP Services (Dublin) Ltd decided to withdraw the court proceedings and de-registration process of aircraft after the parties reached an agreement on the issue.
Currently, the budget carrier has a fleet of 32 aircraft, of which 27 are Boeing 737 and the rest Bombardier Q400s. The airline plans to add seven more such planes between this month and May.

The Prime Minister said India had surpassed America in steel production, but was still far behind China, and therefore, a lot more still needed to be done. He said value addition was necessary in India’s mineral wealth, in order to build a strong economy.
The Prime Minister said the world was looking at India again with optimism. He invited investors from across the world to invest in India. He emphasized in particular, the need to develop the eastern part of India, including the states of Assam+West Bengal+Odisha, +Bihar+ Eastern Uttar Pradesh.
The Prime Minister said the Centre and States were equal stakeholders in the Nation’s development. He highlighted steps taken by the Centre to strengthen states, including enhancing mineral royalty and greater devolution of financial resources to states. He said it was now upto the states to work with a long-term vision for development. The Prime Minister described the process of auctioning of coal blocks, and said the revenues from this would contribute greatly to the development of states.
The Prime Minister paid tribute to the Visionary and Founding Leaders of New Odisha, on the occasion of Utkal Diwas. The Prime Minister presented the Trophy for Excellence in Performance of Integrated Steel Plants to Tata Steel Ltd (TISCO), Bhilai Steel Plant, SAIL, and JSW Steel Ltd, for the years 2010-11, 2011-12, and 2012-13 respectively.
