Qatar airwys says that they are in talk with Indigo and not with Spicejet
Gulf carrier Qatar Airways said it is in talks with IndiGo, the largest Indian airline by market share and set to rest speculations that it is looking for a partnership with SpiceJet.
Qatar Airways’ official confirmation that it was in discussions with IndiGo comes ahead of the no-frills carrier gearing up for an initial share sale worth nearly Rs 2,500 crore.
Several times in the past also, the Doha-based airline has evinced interest in picking up stake in IndiGo.
“Qatar Airways confirms that the only airline it is talking to is the Indian carrier IndiGo,”
IndiGo has not aired any comment on this matter.
There have been media reports that the Doha-based carrier is in talks to pick up stake in SpiceJet.
Further, the Doha-based airline said this was not the first time that such claims have been made. “Similar news was disseminated in January 2013, and this appears to be a tactic to increase market and share value,”

Sharing the Amrit of Vedic knowledge,Geeta Marmgya”मर्मज्ञ”Prem Sabhlok says that Prayers in Vedas are for Social Welfare.
Sabhlok is Retired IDAS Officer From Ministry Of Defence.
Sabhlok says that Vedas have many kind of prayers to 33 devas/devis (formless beings of light and forces of divine Nature) like Mother Hymn Gayatri mantra (prayer to Savitar Deva- for bestowing us knowledge), prayer for immortality (mrityu maa amritam, peace prayer and many others.
The scientific belief in One ineffable, formless and nameless God who has been given many names by learned and wise persons, help in creating peace every where- peace in the sky, peace in the atmosphere, peace on the earth, peace in plants, animals, human beings and water (Yajur Veda 36-17). Let the peace itself be peaceful. This is the most famous peace prayer to God as Shanti Path in the Vedas. Asto ma sad gramye, tamso ma jyoti grmaye, mrityu ma amritam (lead me from falsehood to truth, from darkness to light and from death to immortality/unreal to real). Brihadarnayaka Upanishad.
However, for the seekers of Vedic knowledge, a few prayers relating to welfare of society/mankind are given below.
These prayers aim at “We should not be silent spectators to sin”. Express justifiable anger on the basis of non violence of the strong (like divine Nature-Prakrti, which is extremely strong and largely non violent) about major spiritual, social, political, economic, environmental issues.
RV 1-97-8 has a Prayer to Manyu deva and Agni deva on WRATH “give us power not to become insensitive and silent spectators to social and moral evils and bestow us necessary wrath to fight against these evils”.
“O, God give me wrath against social criminals and non divine people (avarnas) and wake me up from the deep slumber of insensitivity.” Rig Veda
2. “May we look upon all beings with friendly eyes, so that there is sanjna (friendship) among people of a state and different states of the world” R.V X-91- 2 to 4, A.V 6-64-1 to 3 and Yajur Veda 36-8.
Rig Veda 1-24-15 clearly says that by following RTA (cosmic laws of necessity for social welfare), you remain away from misery and get bliss. There is also a prayer in Rig Veda 1-25-1,” O, merciful God, be kind to us as we violate your laws, knowingly and unknowingly day after day.” Obviously this simple prayer is a reminder to the men and women to start knowing, understanding and following these Rta (laws) for their own interest as well as for the interest of the entire man kind and other animate life.
Vedic Rsis (metaphysicists) and Munnies (wandering sages) have found that having created these laws, God Himself follows them sternly, lest a cosmic disorder or chaos may result in the destruction of the Universe. These metaphysical thoughts are also contained in Bhagavad-Gita where lord Krishna says, “If I (as formless and ineffable God) cease to act, these worlds will perish, I should be the author of confusion and cause of destruction of these people (B.G 3-24).

[नयी दिल्ली]चर्चित प्रतिभवान शख्सियतों पर जारी होंगे डाक टिकट
जाने माने गायकों, लेखकों, स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों और चित्रकारों पर सरकार डाक टिकट जारी करने वाली है और इसके डिजाइन के लिए सरकार ने आम लोगों से राय मांगी है।
सूचना एवं प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्री रविशंकर प्रसाद की अध्यक्षता में हुई बैठक में टिकट सलाह समिति ने यह फैसला लिया।
एक आधिकारिक बयान के अनुसार, यह भी फैसला लिया गया कि अब तक जारी की गई स्मृति डाक टिकटों को सभी डाकघरों में उपलब्ध कराया जा सकता है और तस्वीर वाले पोस्टकार्ड के साथ डाक टिकटों को ताजमहल+अजंता एवं एलोरा+ बेलूरमठ+खजुराहो इत्यादि जैसे पर्यटक स्थलों पर भी जारी किया जा सकता है।
केंद्रीय मंत्री ने सुझाव दिया है कि लोगों की राय से डाक टिकट का डिजाइन तैयार किया जाए।
इससे पूर्व डाक विभाग ने 30 जनवरी, 2015 को ‘स्वच्छ भारत’ अभियान पर स्मृति डाक टिकट जारी किया था। इस डाक टिकट के डिजाइन पर फैसला भी खुली प्रतिस्पर्धा के जरिए किया गया था।
महिला सशक्तिकरण पर भी 15 अगस्त, 2015 को एक स्मृति डाक टिकट को जारी किया गया था। इसके डिजाइन पर भी आम लोगों की राय से फैसला लिया गया था।
प्रसाद ने यह भी कहा कि लोगों को टिकटों से जुड़ी सूचना मिल सके इसके लिए एक मोबाइल ऐप्प तैयार किया जाना चाहिए।

Noted poet lyricist Javed Akthar Said that Societies, rather than religions possess a culture, for whom the Urdu language is essentially a secular progressive dialect without being religion specific.
Akthar said at a function late last evening that Islamic culture is a misnomer. Religions don’t have a culture but societies have a culture. There is a central Asian culture+an Iranian+a Turkish culture+an Egyptian+an Indian culture… there can by synthesis of cultures like in India,
Akthar said.”Cultures come from different regions, not religions. So I believe there is nothing like an ‘Islamic Culture,’ had it been the case it then Saudi Arab would have it the most, which by the way is still looking for a culture,”
The poet-lyricist was speaking at a recital session at the India Islamic Cultural Centre here organised by HarperCollins from the book “In Other Words”, a translation of his own poetic works in English by Ali Hussain Mir.
“Urdu has no connection with any religion. I can say this with great pride that generally in literature when poems are written ? say in Sanskrit, English, Greek or Latin, it is for the deities it for the Gods and then transcends to other topics.
“Urdu is one exception in the world that from the very beginning is anti-religion. It was anti-fundamentalist and anti-puritan,” Akhtar said.
Interacting with the audience about the future of Urdu, the Sahitya Akademi winning-scholar expressed concern over the fate of other indigenous languages too, which he said, were not merely a means for communication but also carriers of culture and tradition.
“There was a time when I used to get worried thinking about the future of Urdu. But that doesn’t happen anymore.
Instead now what bothers me is the future of all Indian languages. Be it Urdu, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil or any other… their prevalence and existence is very important for us.

Cabinet condoles death of former President Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam
The Union Cabinet has expressed profound sorrow at the sad demise of former President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. In a resolution passed at a special Cabinet Meeting this morning, it said, “in his passing away the country has lost a visionary scientist, a true nationalist and a great son”. The Cabinet met under the Chairmanship of Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi and extended its heart-felt condolences to the bereaved family on behalf of the Government and the entire nation.
The following is the text of the Resolution:
“Born on 15th October, 1931 at Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu, Dr. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam, specialized in Aeronautical Engineering from Madras Institute of Technology. Dr. Kalam made significant contribution in developing India’s first indigenous Satellite Launch Vehicle and made India an exclusive member of Space Club. Popularly known as the “Missile Man of India’, Dr. Kalam was responsible for the development and operationalisation of AGNI and PRITHVI Missiles. He gave thrust to self-reliance in defence systems by introducing Light Combat Aircraft.
Dr. Kalam was the Scientific Adviser to Defence Minister and Secretary, Department of Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) during 1992-99. During this period, strategic missile systems were developed and the Pokhran-II nuclear tests were conducted. Dr. Kalam had served as the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, from 1999 to 2001 and was responsible for evolving policies, strategies and missions for many development applications and piloted India Millennium Mission 2020.
In his literary pursuit, Dr. Kalam’s books – “Wings of Fire”, “India 2020 -A Vision for the New Millennium”, “My journey” and “Ignited Minds -Unleashing the power within India” became household names in India and abroad.
Dr. Kalam was passionate about transforming society through technology, in particular by inspiring the youth of India to harness science and technology for human welfare.
Dr. Kalam was the recipient of many national and international awards including honorary doctorates from 48 Universities from India and abroad. He received the country’s highest civilian Award “Bharat Ratna” in the year 1997. Eventually, from a very humble beginning, he rose to the highest office of the Country and served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007. During his tenure, he was affectionately known as the People’s President.”

After ticking the funny bones of the audience with “Bheja Fry” and “Bheja Fry 2″, director Sagar Ballary is again working on his next comedy film that will have established stars.
Sagar told PTI.”I have a script which is a comedy. It is not an out-and-out comedy film but it is a real situational comedy film where people laugh at situations. The scripting is done and we have producers who are looking to cast suitable actors,”
If all goes well the project might go on floors early next year.
When asked if his good actor friend Vinay Pathak will be a part of this project, Sagar said, “No he is not a part of this film. But we are working on something for him. I don’t know how much time that will take.”
Sagar and Vinay have worked together in “Kachha Limboo” and the hit “Bheja Fry” series.
