पाकिस्तान तहरीक ए इंसाफ [PTI] के प्रमुख इमरान खान ने कहा हे कि पाकिस्तान भारत के साथ अपने संबंधों को सुधारना चाहता है। उन्होंने कहा कि दोनों पड़ोसियों के बीच आरोप – प्रत्यारोप उपमहाद्वीप के लिए नुकसानदेह है जिसे रोका जाना चाहिए।
आम चुनावों में खान की पार्टी को जीत मिलने के बाद 65 वर्षीय नेता ने पहली बार लोगों को संबोधित करते हुए कहा , ‘‘ अगर वे हमारी तरफ एक कदम बढ़ाते हैं तो हम दो कदम बढ़ाएंगे लेकिन कम से कम शुरुआत होने की जरूरत है। ’’
खान ने कहा कि दोनों देशों के बीच कश्मीर ‘‘ मुख्य ’’ मुद्दा है और वार्ता के माध्यम से इसका समाधान होना चाहिए।
उन्होंने कहा , ‘‘ मैं ऐसा व्यक्ति हूं जो क्रिकेट के कारण भारत के बहुत से लोगों को यकीनन जानता हूं। हम दक्षिण पूर्व एशिया में गरीबी संकट का समाधान कर सकते हैं। ’’ उन्होंने कहा कि दोनों पक्षों को इसका समाधान करने के लिए वार्ता की मेज पर आना चाहिए।
उन्होंने कहा , ‘‘ हम भारत के साथ अपने संबंधों को सुधारना चाहते हैं अगर उनका नेतृत्व भी चाहता हो। ऐसा आरोप – प्रत्यारोप कि पाकिस्तान के बलूचिस्तान प्रांत में कुछ भी भारत के कारण गलत हो रहा है और ऐसा ही आरोप वहां भारत में पाकिस्तान पर लगाया जाना हमें उसी चौराहे पर ला खड़ा करता है। ’’
उन्होंने कहा , ‘‘ हम इस तरह आगे नहीं बढ़ेंगे और यह उपमहाद्वीप के लिए नुकसानदायक है। ’’

[Mehsana ,Guj] Reservation Leader Hardik Patel Gets 2 -Year Jail in Visnagar Rioting Case
A Gujarat court sentenced Patidar quota agitation leader Hardik Patel to two years imprisonment in a case of rioting and arson in Visnagar town here in 2015.
Judge V P Agarwal, of the sessions court at Visnagar, held guilty Hardik Patel and his two aides, Lalji Patel and A K Patel under IPC sections pertaining to rioting, arson, damage to property and unlawful assembly.
The three were awarded two years imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 50,000 each.
The other 14 accused were let off by the court for want of enough evidence against them.
Hardik Patel is one of the accused in the FIR which was filed at Visnagar in Mehsana district on July 23, 2015, when a rally of the Patel community seeking reservation turned violent, resulting in damage to property and assault on some media persons.
During the violent agitation, the mob had torched a car and vandalised the office of local BJP MLA Rishikesh Patel.

Government today moved the Supreme Court seeking early hearing in the matter related to its row with Punjab over the Satluj-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal.
The matter was mentioned before a bench comprising Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices A M Khanwilkar and D Y Chandrachud.
The bench asked Haryana’s counsel to approach the apex court registry for listing of the matter before an appropriate bench.
The apex court had earlier granted the Centre time to explore the possibility of an amicable solution to the SYL canal row between Punjab and Haryana.
On July 11, the apex court said it was obligatory for Punjab and Haryana to respect and execute its orders on the SYL canal issue.
The controversial 1981 water-sharing agreement came into being after Haryana was carved out of Punjab in 1966
In 2004, the Congress government in the state came out with the Punjab Termination of Agreement Act with the intention to terminate the 1981 agreement and all other pacts relating to sharing waters of the Ravi and Beas rivers.
The apex court had first decreed Haryana’s suit in 2002 asking Punjab to honour its commitments with regard to water sharing in the case.
Punjab had challenged the verdict by filing an original suit that was rejected in 2004 by the Supreme Court which asked the Centre to take over the remaining infrastructure work of the SYL canal project.

The Punjab Environment Minister Om Prakash Soni inspected two main industrial units Federal Agro Private Industries Limited and Nectar Life Science Limited in Dera Bassi. and found some loopholes in the functioning of Effluents Treatment Plants (ETPs) of these industrial units. Minister asked the owners of these units to fullfill all the norms within 10-day. After that necessary actions being taken against them.
Mr. Soni directed the officers of the Environment Department and Pollution Control Board (PPCB) to keep a close tab on the industries in a bid to check the contamination of natural water resources. He said that if any industry does not follow governmental norms and continues to spill out contaminated water into river then strict action would be taken against erring unit.
He also Expressed grave concern over contaminated and untreated water being thrown by the industries of Chandigarh and Haryana into Ghaggar River,

Two BEST buses were attacked by agitators in Kanjurmarg and Bhandup suburbs of Mumbai.
In view of the stone-pelting on buses, the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) partially suspended its services in those areas
Protesters also hurled stones at a public transport bus in Wagle Estate area of the neighbouring Thane city.
They blocked some areas there, including the key Teen Hath Naka junction, resulting in long queues of vehicles on the road leading to Mumbai.
A bus was also attacked in Ghansoli area of Navi Mumbai following which the city transport authority suspended its services in the area, an official said.
At some places, protesters raised slogans against Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Public Works Department Minister Chandrakant Patil for allegedly insulting sentiments of the Maratha community.

Around 70 lakh people travel in local trains daily in the Mumbai region.
The Maratha Kranti Morcha, which is spearheading the agitation for reservation in jobs and education, has called for the shutdown in Mumbai and some neighbouring districts today.
Another outfit, the Sakal Maratha Samaj, called for the bandh in Navi Mumbai and Panvel areas.
Yesterday, large-scale violence marred a state-wide protest by Maratha outfits demanding reservation for the community.
A constable died and nine other policemen were injured amid suicide attempt by three agitators during the violence.
Agitators had clashed with the police and torched vehicles at several places, while Internet services were suspended in rural areas of Aurangabad district to prevent any untoward incident. In Jalna, the police had fired in the air to quell protests.
Quotas for Marathas, a politically influential community that constitutes around 30 per cent of the state’s population, has been a hugely contentious issue.
Fadnavis had cancelled his visit to a temple in Pandharpur on Monday after protesters threatened to disrupt the event.

रालोद के मुखिया अजित सिंह ने महागठबंधन को समय की जरूरत बताते हुए कहा कि अगर अगला लोकसभा चुनाव कोई दल अकेले लड़ता है तो वह समाप्त हो जाएगा ।
पत्रकारों से बातचीत में सिंह ने महागठबंधन को समय की जरूरत भी बताया। उन्होंने कहा कि महागठबंधन के तहत 2019 का चुनाव लडऩा हर दल की मजबूरी है। अगर अगला लोकसभा चुनाव कोई दल अकेले लड़ता है तो वह समाप्त हो जाएगा। भाजपा से गठबंधन के सवाल पर रालोद प्रमुख ने कहा कि उनकी पार्टी का भारतीय जनता पार्टी से गठबंधन का सवाल ही पैदा नहीं होता।
रालोद मुखिया ने कहा कि रालोद भाजपा के खिलाफ बन रहे महागठबंधन के साथ मिलकर 2019 का लोकसभा चुनाव लड़ेगी। सिंह ने कहा कि परिवर्तन की बयार बहनी शुरू हो गई है और 2019 के लोकसभा चुनाव में भाजपा का सूपड़ा साफ हो जाएगा। देश में भाजपा का नहीं आरएसएस का राज चल रहा है।
सिंह ने कहा कि भाजपा लोगों को बरगलाने और नफरत की सियासत कर रही है। वह हिंदू-मुस्लिम ही नहीं बल्कि हिंदुओं को भी जातिगत आधार पर बांट कर लड़ा रही है। संसद में अविश्वास प्रस्ताव पर विपक्ष नहीं बल्कि पीएम की हार हुई है, क्योंकि राहुल गांधी पीएम मोदी के गले लग यह संदेश देने में सफल रहे कि हम प्यार की सियासत करते हैं और भाजपा नफरत की राजनीति करती है।
केंद्र सरकार के सात हजार करोड़ के गन्ना पैकेज को ढकोसला बताते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि किसानों को इससे रत्तीभर फायदा नहीं मिलने वाला।
अजित सिंह ने 2019 में लोकसभा चुनाव लड़ने की बात को नकारते हुए कहा कि मैं चुनाव नहीं लड़ूंगा, अब 80 साल का हो गया हूँ। अब और चुनाव नहीं। लेकिन कुछ ही घंटे बाद सिंह ने अपनी ही बात को नकारते हुए कहा कि मैंने कभी नहीं कहा कि मैं चुनाव नहीं लड़ूंगा।

Indian deposits in Swiss banks fell by 34.5 per cent in 2017 and by 80% since the Narendra Modi government came to power in 2014, Finance Minister Piyush Goyal said today, citing data from the global body of central banks, the Bank for International Settlements (BIS).
He said this in Parliament rebutting last month’s reports, which quoted the Swiss National Bank, the country’s central bank, as saying in its annual report that Indian deposits had risen by 50 per cent in 2017.
He told Rajya Sabha during question hour that he discussed the issue with Swiss authorities, who told him in a written reply that media reports “have not taken account of the way the (SNB) figures have to be interpreted”.
Last month, PTI had reported SNB data that the money parked by Indians in Swiss banks rose to CHF 1.01 billion (Rs. 7,000 crore) in 2017 after falling for three consecutive years.
However, his reply did not satisfy Trinamool Congress members who stormed into the Well of the House demanding that black money stashed in Swiss banks be brought back, forcing Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu to adjourn the proceedings for about 90 minutes.

The Income Tax department has attached benami properties worth Rs 4,300 crore till June 30
Minister of State for Finance Shiv Pratap Shukla said the government has taken various steps to identify benami properties and the I-T department has set up 24 dedicated Benami Prohibition Units across India.
“As on June 30, 2018, provisional attachments have been made in more than 1,600 benami transactions involving benami properties valued at over Rs 4,300 crore,” Shukla said in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha.
In another reply, Shukla said tax collections from foreign companies have gone up to Rs 27,561 crore in Assessment Year (AY) 2017-18, from Rs 24,541 crore a year ago.
He said as per provisions of the I-T Act, a foreign company is liable to tax all income, whether received or deemed to be received, from any source in India.
“However, the taxation of a foreign company under the Act is subject to the provisions of the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement, if any, between India and the country of which the foreign company is resident,” Shukla said.
