Suspension order by Prasar Bharati dated October 1 did not specify any reason but only said R Vasumathi, Assistant Director (Programme), Doordarshan Kendra, Chennai, has been placed under suspension under relvant rules with “immediate effect.”
Sources in the know said the issue pertains to Doordarshan’s coverage of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit here on Monday.
The prime minister had addressed the India Singapore Hackathon 2019 and the 56th Concvocation of IIT, Madras. He had also given away prizes to the winners of the Hackathon.
Modi had earlier addressed BJP workers at a party organised felicitation for him at the airport on his arrival here.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar took part in a ‘Swachhta’ campaign and asked people to take a pledge to keep the country clean.
Paying tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary, Khattar said, “He taught us the best way to know oneself is to immerse oneself in the service of others”.
On the occasion, Khattar also picked up a broom to promote the cause of cleanliness.
He was accompanied among others by his Minister Rao Narbir Singh, sitting MLA from Badshahpur, who has been denied ticket for the October 21 assembly polls from the seat.
Khattar also paid tributes to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary.

(हैदराबाद) इसरो से जुड़े फ़ोटो वैज्ञानिक सुरेश की संदिग्ध मौत
#एनआरएससी के 56 वर्षीय वैज्ञानिक #सुरेश कुमार अपने आवास पर रहस्यमय परिस्थितियों में मृत पाए गए।
एनआरएससी #इसरो का एक विभाग है और कुमार इस केंद्र के फोटो विभाग में कार्यरत थे।
पुलिस के अनुसार कुमार की पत्नी चेन्नई में रहती हैं और उन्होंने कई बार अपने पति को फोन किया था। कुमार का कोई उत्तर न मिलने पर उनकी पत्नी ने उनके मित्रों को इसकी सूचना दी।
कुमार के मित्र उनके फ्लैट पर पहुंचे तो दरवाजा बाहर से बंद पाया जिसके बाद उन्होंने दरवाजा तोड़ दिया। भीतर जाने पर कुमार मृत मिले और उनके सिर पर चोट के निशान थे। पुलिस के अनुसार प्रथम दृष्टया यह मामला हत्या का लगता है। पुलिस ने मामला दर्ज कर जांच शुरू कर दी है।

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who on Tuesday filed his nomination papers for the assembly polls from Karnal, declared assets worth Rs 1.27 crore.
In an affidavit filed before the returning officer in Karnal, from where he is seeking re-election, 65-year-old Khattar declared moveable assets worth Rs 94 lakh and immoveable worth Rs 33 lakh.
According to the affidavit, his moveable assets grew from Rs 8,29,952 in 2014 to Rs 94,00,985 this year. It included his bank deposits and cash in hand.
In the immoveable assets, Khattar has inherited a piece of agricultural land worth Rs 30 lakh at his native Binyani village in Rohtak district.
He does not possess any non-agricultural land or commercial property but has a 800 sq feet house at Binyani village.
It has a market value of Rs 3 lakh, the same as the previous poll affidavit.
He does not have any criminal case against him and was never convicted in any case, states the affidavit.
The chief minister, who does not own any vehicle, has shown his educational qualification as a graduate from Delhi University and has Rs 15,000 cash in hand.
There are no loans/dues/liabilities outstanding against him.
There are also no outstanding dues in respect of rent, electricity, water and telephone charges for the accommodation provided to him in Chandigarh’s Sector 3.
Khattar, a bachelor, who in his 2014 affidavit had declared himself as an “agriculturist” who took tuitions as well, has now shown himself as an MLA by profession.
Khattar has declared salary as his source of income and filed income tax returns of Rs 28.95 lakh in 2018-19, Rs 31.39 lakh in 2017-18, Rs 34.86 lakh in 2016-17 and Rs 6.21 lakh in 2015-2016.

सड़क मंत्रालय को एनसीआर में अपनी सड़कों की क्षमता का ही ज्ञान नही

(नयी दिल्ली) #सड़कमंत्रालय को #एनसीआर की सड़कों की क्षमता का ही ज्ञान नही सो एन जी टी ने लगा दी फटकार
सड़क मंत्रालय #एनजीटी के समक्ष यह रिपोर्ट पेश नहीं कर सका कि राष्ट्रीय राजधानी में सड़कों की क्षमता के अनुपात में कितने वाहनों को अनुमति दी जा सकती है जिसपर अधिकरण ने मंत्रालय को कड़ी फटकार लगायी है।
एनजीटी अध्यक्ष आदर्श कुमार गोयल की अगुवाई वाली पीठ ने इसे ‘अपराध’ करार दिया और #परिवहनमंत्रालय के सचिव को रिपोर्ट देने का अंतिम मौका दिया।
इसी रिपोर्ट के नहीं मिलने के कारण इस मामले की सुनवाई तीन बार स्थगित की गयी।
मामले की अगली सुनवाई 9 दिंसबर को होगी।
अधिकरण ने यह आदेश बस संचालक मेट्रो ट्रांजिट प्राइवेट लिमिटेड की अर्जी पर सुनवाई करते हुए दिया। याचिकाकर्ता ने यातायात के सुचारू संचालन के लिए सड़कों पर से रेहड़ी-पटरी, फेरी लगाने वालों, निर्माण सामग्री, अनधिकृत पार्किंग वालों हटाने का निर्देश देने का अनुरोध किया था ताकि उसका धंधा बाधित न हो और पर्यावरण की सुरक्षा हो।

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished President Ram Nath Kovind on his 74th birthday saying the country had gained from his insights and understanding of policy matters.
“One can always see his passion towards empowering the poor and downtrodden,” the prime minister wrote on Twitter.
Kovind was born on this day in 1945 near Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh.
