AirAsia India has slashed salary of its pilots by an average 40 per cent for May and June,
The senior management at AirAsia India had taken a pay cut of 20 per cent in April, while the wages of executives falling in other categories were reduced by 7-17 per cent.
However, employees getting a salary of Rs 50,000 per month or less were spared.
AirAsia India is a joint venture between Tatas and AirAsia (Investment) Ltd — will be completing six years of operations next week. It has a workforce of around 2,500 people. As many as 600 of them are pilots for its 30 Airbus A320 aircraft fleet.

Three Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militants, including an IED expert, were killed in an encounter with security forces in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday
Security forces had launched a cordon and search operation in the area following information about the presence of militants there.
After laying the cordon in the area, announcements were made for the militants to surrender, but they fired upon the security forces, defence spokesman Col Rajesh Kalia said.
The forces retaliated, ensuing a gunfight in which three militants were killed, the spokesman said.

Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways and MSMEs Nitin Gadkari today announced the development of a new Greenfield connectivity to Amritsar City from Nakodar via Sultanpur Lodhi, Goindwal Sahib, Khadoor Sahib as part of Delhi-Amritsar Expressway. He said, the road from Amritsar to Gurdaspur would also be fully developed and made completely signal free. With this, traffic would have option to travel to Gurdaspur onwards from Nakodar, i.e. via Amritsar or via Kartarpur. The Minister said, this greenfield alignment will not only provide shortest and alternate express connectivity to Amritsar city but also to other religious centres of Sultanpur Lodhi, Goindwal Sahib, Khadoor Sahib as well as the recently developed Dera Baba Nanak/Kartarpur Sahib International Corridor in Punjab.
Gadkari informed that with this expressway, travel time from Amritsar to Delhi International airport would reduce to about four hours from the present about eight hours. He said, this would fulfil one of long standing demands of the people of Punjab. The first phase of expressway would involve investment of about Rs 25,000 crore.
Ministry of Road Transport & Highways have taken up development of Delhi Amritsar Katra Expressway under Bharatmala Pariyojana. The alignment of expressway was firmed up in January 2019 and process of land acquisition was initiated. Recently, the issue of alignment of Expressway to Amritsar has been taken up by the Minister of Food Processing Industries Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal, and the Minister of State (I/C) Civil Aviation, Housing & Urban Affairs Shri Hardeep Singh Puri with the Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari. The issue was also raised by Shwait Malik, MP (Rajya Sabha), Gurjit Singh Aujla, MP (Lok Sabha), Govt. of Punjab, Sikh organisations and other public representatives.
It is reiterated that Amritsar city was always an integral part of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway. From beginning Expressway was proposed as combination of Greenfield and Brownfield alignment in two phases.
Gadkari also requested Govt. of Punjab to provide requisite support to NHAI to expedite Land acquisition for proposed expressway in the State of Punjab.

The country’s largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp on Monday reported a 82.71 per cent decline in total sales at 1,12,682 units in May.
The company had sold 6,52,028 units in the corresponding month of the previous year, Hero MotoCorp
Total motorcycle sales stood at 1,06,038 units last month as against 6,06,216 units in May 2019, down 82.5 per cent.
Total scooter sales declined 85.49 per cent to 6,644 units as compared with 45,812 units in the year-ago month
In the domestic market, sales stood at 1,08,848 units last month as compared with 6,37,319 units in the same period a year ago, down 82.92 per cent.
“Ensuring stringent safety protocols for employee and customer wellbeing, Hero MotoCorp scaled-up production in a graded manner during the month, after reopening three of its manufacturing facilities on May 4,” the company said.
All six manufacturing facilities of the company in India at Dharuhera and Gurugram in Haryana, Haridwar in Uttarakhand, Neemrana in Rajasthan, Halol in Gujarat and Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh have now resumed operations with limited production
The company’s manufacturing facilities at global locations one each in Colombia and Bangladesh also restarted production during the month, Hero MotoCorp said.

The Punjab government has raised additional excise duty and additional assessed fee on liquor in the range of Rs 2 to Rs 50 depending upon the type of liquor.
The move will help the state to mobilise additional revenue of Rs 145 crore in the current fiscal.
The state is facing a revenue shortfall of Rs 26,000 crore, which is 30 per cent of the total budget revenue estimates, for the financial year 2020-21, necessitating some tough measures to generate additional revenue, the chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh said.
The proceeds of the additional levy shall be utilised entirely for COVID19-related expenditure, Singh said.

Four people have been arrested for allegedly duping over 4,000 people by promising them jobs under the Centre’s flagship Ayushman Bharat scheme
The accused had created a fake website that resembled a government site and placed advertisement for thousands of jobs. They charged aspirants Rs 5,000 as registration fees,
The accused have been identified as Umesh (37), Rajat Singh (33), Gaurav (26) and Seema Rani Sharma (33).
