[New Delhi]Delhi Police’s 32 Spl Teams,Utilizing All Eyes+Ears Verified 578 Street Criminals In 24 Hrs
Delhi Police Launched a massive drive to verify the criminals involved in street crime case like Robbery+Snatching+Hurt +Theft cases on 14.09.16 which continued for 24 hours.
Total 32 special teams were constituted and were specially tasked to verify the movements and antecedents of the criminals who had previous history of being involved in cases of Robbery, Snatching, Auto-lifting and Theft.
Specific task were given to these teams and intensive checking and surveillance over the activities of known criminals having previous involvements was mounted.
Several informers were also roped in and the information providers under the Eyes and Ears Scheme of Delhi Police were also utilized.
A total of 578 active criminals were verified during the intensive drive by the special teams of East District. Out of them, preventive action were taken against 131 active criminals after due verification.
The actions were taken under the provisions of Delhi Police Act and Cr.PC.
One proclaimed offender was also arrested during the drive.
An Auto-lifter was arrested and 4 stolen vehicles were recovered from his possession during the drive and
4 cases of auto theft were solved.
Snatched/Stolen mobiles were also recovered during the drive.
As Per Police Sources ,An intensive checking of public places like Parks/Malls was also conducted and 15 persons were booked under the Excise Act for drinking at public places. A number of people were also rounded up during the drive.
