Science Of Spirituality and Sawan Kripal Ruhani mission Sant Rajender Singh Ji Maharaj categorized Habits in three parts and finds hard to break them
and These habits are [1] Helpful Habits
[2]Harmful Habits And some are even
[3] Useless Habits They are always hard to break. And Hurdles in the spiritual progress.Which can be worked out by New Habit Of Meditation .
Maharaj ji said “Some habits stand in the way of our spiritual progress. How many do we engage in that keep us from meditating? The mind is in the habit of thinking. When we are meditating, we do not want to be thinking. Yet, when we sit for meditation, our mind thinks it is a time to work out our problems, have creative thoughts, or plan what we are going to do.
Sant Maharaj said “We need to decide who is in control of our meditation time—is it our mind or our soul? We need to start a new habit, one in which, when we meditate, we fix our gaze with a still mind. If we do anything else, then we have given into the useless habit of our mind trying to spend time thinking during our meditation period. We have plenty of other time during the day to think. Why do we need to waste our meditation time thinking distracting thoughts? Thinking during meditation, instead of stilling our mind to enjoy the inner spiritual vistas of Light and Sound, is a useless habit that we can learn to break.
Sant Rajender Singh Ji has warned About useless Habits and categorizes them as hurdles in the way of spiritual progress. Maharaj said These useless Habits stand in the way of developing ethical virtues. We may be in the habit of being angry+ untruthful+ egotistic+ and selfish. These useless habits need to be broken in order to grow spiritually. For example, when someone says something to us that we do not like, are we in the habit of lashing out at the person with angry words or an angry tone of voice? Are we in the habit of giving into anger instead of letting sweetness flow from our lips? There are many things that people do and say throughout the day that are not to our liking. If we are in the habit of becoming angry with them, then how will we progress spiritually?
We need to develop the habit of being compassionate and understanding of other people’s needs and plights. Everyone is coming from a different place and has different problems. Rather than being angry, we can take a few moments to understand them. Once we get to the heart of their problem or point of view, we find that people have real difficulties in life and are in need of soothing balm to relieve their pain.
If we would consider other people’s feelings and needs with empathy, we could refrain from anger. We would kindly ask them what is their problem and what do they need so we could find a way to help and comfort them. If we walk through life taking care not to tread on a single human heart, we would find a solution for the useless habit of our anger.
Maharaj advised to develop the good habit of selfless service, and habit of saying “no” to requests for help, we can get into the habit of saying “yes.”
Many people throughout the world are addicted to harmful activities. These are habits that can harm them physically and mentally as well as hurt others. Some people are addicted to drugs+alcohol+ or smoking. A habit can become so engrained that the brain sets up pathways that depend upon these activities to make it feel good. Engaging in some of these activities is more dangerous to our health than other habits, because the chemicals we are putting into our body stimulate hormones that make us have good feelings; they take over the other healthy ways in which we can have good feelings. Thus, the brain and body become dependent upon chemicals to feel good instead of deriving happiness from healthy activities. Then, the brain needs more and more doses of these chemicals to feel as good as it once did with less.
To satisfy their addictions to drugs or alcohol, people may be driven to beg+ borrow+ and steal to get money to pay for them. It is better not to get involved with such addictions in the first place, and if we already are, to get professional help to break these habits. Meditation can help by providing experiences of joy and ecstasy through natural means by putting us in contact with the divine and blissful Light and Sound within. Then, we do not need to turn to chemical means to be happy.
Sant Rajender Singh Ji Said “If we introspect and reflect on our thoughts, words, and deeds each day, we can become aware of which habits we are falling victim to and any bad habits that need to be replaced with good ones. When we meditate, we can develop helpful habits so that those that are not good for us fall away. We can develop those habits that will lead us to the bliss and lasting happiness that are awaiting us when we come in contact with the spiritual realms within.”
