Defence Accounts Department Celebrated its266th Annual Day And Launched Defence Pensioners Portal

[Delhi]Defence Accounts Department[DAD] Celebrated its 266th Annual Day Today
Minister of State for Defence Jitendra Singh today complimented the Defence Accounts Department for performing the gigantic task for issuing revised Pension Payment Orders (PPOs) to 6.5 lakh pensioners. Addressing the 266th Annual Day function of the Department he said, “It has undertaken the gigantic task of issuing revised Pension Payment Orders (PPOs) to pre- 2006 pensioners on account of Sixth Pay Commission.It is satisfying to note that the Department has been able to issue 6.5 lakh corrigendum PPOs besides implementing the Cabinet Secretary Committee-2012 recommendations.” However, he said, there is still lot to be done in this area. He hopes that the Department to complete issue of balance 12 lakh corrigendum PPOs as quickly as possible by deploying all possible resources. The Minister said that the Department has done commendable work on educating pensioners about their entitlement through “SUVIGYA”, and settling their grievances through “Pension Adalats”.
Jitendra Singh also commended the Department for sustained improvement in the service conditions including timely delivery of pay and pension to the serving and the retired defence personnel. He said, the Department has utilized IT in a commendable manner for improved system of Pay and Provident Funds.
On the occasion, the Minister presented the “Raksha Mantri Awards for Excellence” to DAD employees selected for their outstanding contributions during 2012-13.
[A]The team of PCDA (Pensions), Allahabad headed by Shri G K Baranwal, IDAS, ACDA was felicitated with the excellence award for Issue of Corrigendum PPOs to Pre-2006 PBORs, Commissioned Officers and Civil Pensioners under Ministry of Defence as per 6th CPC and Committee of Secretaries-2012 recommendations.
[B]The team of PCDA (Western Command), Chandigarh headed by Dr. Upinderbir Singh, IDAS, ACDA was felicitated with the excellence award for streamlining the work related to post-audit of Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Schemes (ECHS) payments.
[C]The team from Controller General of Defence Accounts, Delhi Cantt and CDA (Pension Disbursement), Meerut headed by Shri Vinod Kumar, IDAS was felicitated with the excellence award for their efforts for accurate and speedy implementation of the recommendations of the Committee of Secretaries-2012.
An in-house developed “Defence Pensioners’ Portal” was launched by the Comptroller & Auditor General (C & AG) Shri Shashi Kant Sharma on this occasion.
The “Defence Pensioners’ Portal” has been designed to provide pension related information to pensioners paid by the Defence Pension Disbursement Offices (DPDOs). The portal can be accessed at www.dpdopensioners.orgto know the details of pension received by the pensioner and the history of his pensionary benefits.
Defence Secretary Shri RK Mathur also addressed the gathering. Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal NAK Browne+ Chief of Naval Admiral DK Joshi+ Financial Advisor (Defence Services) Shri Arunava Dutt and Controller General of Defence Account Ms. Vandana Srivastava were also present on the occasion.
