Daniel Craig-starrer “Spectre”, the highly anticipated 24th James Bond film, has grossed Rs 31.9 crore in its opening weekend.
Sony Pictures India released the film exclusively in high-quality 2K digital format in 1250 screens in four languages –
English+Hindi+Tamil +Telugu
Vivek Krishnani, Managing Director, Sony Pictures India, said in a statement.
“We are very happy that Spectre’s opening in India is mirroring its global success. The film was hugely anticipated and the ‘masala’ action film has connected with audiences across India.
The weekend box office numbers are proof of that and we are sure that James Bond will continue entertaining audiences in weeks to come,”
Directed by Sam Mendes, the film features James Bond’s first encounter with the global criminal organisation Spectre, marking the group’s first appearance in an Eon Productions film since 1971’s “Diamonds Are Forever”.
“Spectre” is produced by Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli. The screenplay is by John Logan, Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and Jez Butterworth, with a story by John Logan and Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.
