अन्तराष्ट्रीय ओलम्पिक कमेटी [आई ओ सी] का चार्टर नहीं मानने के आरोप में भारतीय ओलम्पिक संघ[ आई ओ ऐ] को निलंबित कर दिया गया है| आईओसी के कार्यकारी बोर्ड की स्विट्जरलैंड के लुसाने में शुरू हुई दो दिवसीय बैठक में आईओए को निलंबित करने का फैसला किया गया। आईओसी ने आईओए के चुनाव खेल संहिता के तहत कराने पर पहले ही नाराजगी व्यक्त करते हुए स्पष्ट कर दिया था कि वह कार्यकारी बोर्ड की बैठक में भारत के निलंबन का प्रस्ताव पेश करेगा। आई ओ ऐ ने इसके लिए आई ओ सी में गए एक प्रतिद्वन्दी भारतीय प्रतिनिधि का एक षड्यंत्र बताया है|

भारत ओलिंपिक, कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स और एशियन गेम्स जैसे प्रतिष्ठित टूर्नामेंटों में भारतीय झंडे के साथ हिस्सा नहीं ले पाएगा। आई ओ सी से फंड्स भी रोके जा सकते हैं|
इस निलंबन के फलस्वरूप आई ओ ऐ को इंटरनेशल ओलिंपिक कमेटी से फंड नहीं मिल सकेंगे। साथ ही भारतीय अधिकारी किसी भी ओलिंपिक मीटिंग में हिस्सा नहीं ले पाएंगे। भारतीय खेल जगत के लिए इसे एक तगड़ा झटका माना जा रहा है।
समाचार एजेंसी एपी ने भी इस फैसले की जानकारी रखने वाले दो अधिकारियों के हवाले से यह खबर प्रकाशित की है एजेंसी के अनुसार आईओसी ने पहले से चेतावनी दी थी कि अगर आईओए के चुनाव ओलंपिक चार्टर के बजाय भारत सरकार के नियमों के आधार पर होते हैं तो वो उसकी मान्यता सस्पेंड कर देगा। यही नहीं आईओसी की एथिक्स कमेटी का भी कहना था कि आईओए में किसी दागी पदाधिकारी का चुनाव नहीं होना चाहिए लेकिन कॉमनवेल्थ घोटाले में एक साल से जेल की हवा खा रहे ललित भनोट को आईओए का निर्विरोध महासचिव चुन लिया गया।बुधवार को होने वाले भारतीय ओलिंपिक संघ (आईओए) के चुनावों से एक दिन पहले आईओसी का यह फैसला आया है।
नवनिर्वाचित अध्यक्ष अभय सिंह चौटाला ने मीडिया के समक्ष यदपि अभी आधिकारिक तौर पर निर्णय प्राप्ति से इंकार किया है मगर उन्होंने भारतीय ओलंपिक संघ के दो अधिकारियों नरिंदर बत्रा और आरके आनंद के अंतरराष्ट्रीय ओलंपिक समिति के आला अधिकारियों के साथ बैठक के लिए स्विट्जरलैंड जाने की बात जरूर कही इसके अलावा उन्होंने आई ओ सी में गए एक भरतीय प्रतिनिधि परउनके खिलाफ सद्यन्त्र रचाने का आरोप भी लगा दिया|
आईओसी लगातार आईओए से कह रहा था कि वह अपने संविधान और ओलिंपिक चार्टर को माने तथा चुनाव के लिए सरकार की खेल संहिता पर नहीं चले।
इस निलंबन के बाद आईओए को आईओसी से मिलने वाला कोष रुक जाएगा और उसके अधिकारियों के ओलंपिक बैठकों और प्रतियोगिताओं में शामिल होने पर प्रतिबंध होगा।
