Airports in AP Is Not A Vote Bank Politics But Implementation Of Mandate

Airports in AP Is Not A Vote Bank Politics: It Is Implementation Of Mandate. Ministry of Civil Aviation In Government of India Issued This Clarification
A section of the Press carried an article wherein it has been insinuated that international airports in Tirupati, Vijayawada and Vishakhapatnam are sought to be built with a view to please voters.
Responding to this news item, the Ministry of Civil Aviation clarifies that the said insinuation is far from the truth. As a result of bifurcation of the State of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, the residual state of Andhra Pradesh has been left bereft of a capital city and an international airport. Thus, the move to develop international airports at Vijayawada, Vishakhapatnam and Tirupati is only a step being taken to implement the mandate given in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 and it is not to please any section of voters in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
