According to exit polls.A record 67.08 per cent turnout was registered today in the fiercely fought Delhi assembly polls where BJP and AAP are locked in a blockbuster fight, outcome of which may have ramifications on the national political scenario.
Moderate to brisk voting was today witnessed in Delhi as 35.82 % of the nearly 1.33 crore voters exercised their franchise in the first five hours of polling .
Over 51 % voters exercised their franchise till 4 PM
An estimated 63.46 % voters exercised their franchise in the Delhi Assembly polls till 5 PM
An estimated 67 %turnout was recorded in crucial Delhi assembly polls where BJP & AAP were locked in a battle royale,
In view of the heavy voter turnout, the Election Commission has extended the voting time beyond the scheduled deadline of 6 PM to enable those in the queues to exercise their franchise. Large number of voters were still queuing up outside polling stations in various localities beyond the official deadline of voting
.”However, we are still yet to get final figure as voting continued beyond scheduled deadline of 6 PM,” Delhi’s Chief Electoral Officer Chandra Bhushan Kumar said.
All the exit polls today have predicted a majority for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Delhi Assembly elections with one of them giving it as high as 53 seats in the 70-member House. BJP’s CM Candidate Dr Kiran Bedi in her press conference Has declared that results of these elections will be her responsibity
