[Mumbai] Akshay’s “Gold” 1st Bollywood Film to Release in Saudi Arabia
Akshay Kumar-fronted “Gold” has become the first Bollywood film ever to release in Saudi Arabia.
The Reema Kagti-directed sports film is only the second movie after Rajinikanth’s hit social drama, “Kaala” to hit the theatres in the Gulf country.
Akshay today took to Twitter to share the news.
“The story of India’s first Gold medal victory for the first time in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Happy to share, #Gold is the first ever Bollywood movie to release in the Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia, in cinemas from today! @excelmovies @ZeeStudiosInt,” he wrote.
“Gold” is the fictional re-telling of the India’s iconic win at the 1948 London Olympics.
Also featuring Mouni Roy, Amit Sadh, Kunal Kapoor and Vineet Kumar Singh, the film released on August 15.
In May, Saudi Arabia held a private screening of international cultural phenomenon, “Black Panther” to herald the launch of movie theatres, open to the public, in the kingdom.

The business magnate shared a link discussing the importance of the Shree Narayan Singh directorial in addressing the health and hygiene issue which India continues to grapple with.
“‘Toilet: A Love Story’, a Bollywood romance about a newlywed couple, educated audiences about India’s sanitation challenge,” Gates wrote in the post, which was later retweeted by Akshay.
The film, released on August 11, is based on the Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan, initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“What happened that day was unfortunate and uncalled for.
I was at the airport and I heard a commotion which made me turn around, I didn’t notice anything wrong so I walked on. It was later brought to my notice that my bodyguard had punched a fan,”

The bungalow stands on Carter Road in suburban Bandra and the demolition work is underway for the past two weeks now.
After Khanna’s death in 2012, his family sold off the bungalow for a reported sum of Rs 90 crore to Shashi Kiran Shetty, founder and chairman of All Cargo Logistics.
Shetty has decided to build a new four-storey residence where he would stay with his family,
Khanna, fondly called Kaka by his colleagues and fans, had bought the bungalow from another yesteryear Bollywood star, Rajendra Kumar, in the late 1960s.

As per press release the Maharashtra Government approached the 48-year-old actor to appear in the video, which will be directed by Rajkumar Hirani and released on World Health Day on April 7.
This video, is expected to be shot this week in Mumbai.
