ACB Summoned Dy CM Manish Sisodia in Recruitment Scam
The Anti-Corruption Branch has summoned Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in connection with its probe into an alleged recruitment scam in Delhi Commission for Women (DCW).
Sisodia will be questioned on October 14, Mukesh Meena, the LG-appointed chief of the anti-graft body, said.
Earlier, the ACB had named Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and DCW chief Swati Maliwal in the FIR registered in the case based on the complaint of the commission’s former chief Barkha Shukla Singh.
Kejriwal had vowed to expose the “conspiracy” behind the matter.
A special session of the Delhi Assembly was convened on September 30 in this regard, but the Delhi CM refrained from furnishing any details, saying the timing was not appropriate as the Army had conducted surgical strikes across the LoC the night before

The Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) has sent notice to Mrs Sheila Dikshit asking her to join the investigation in connection with the alleged Rs 400-crore water tanker scam even as the former Delhi Chief Minister dubbed the charges as “politically motivated”.
Special Commission of Police and ACB Chief MK Meena today said, “Notices have been sent to Sheila Dixit and few Delhi Jal Board officials. They shall be questioned on July 26.”
Asked by reporters what happens if Dikshit fails to turn up before the ACB despite the notice, Meena said, “We can’t predict anything in this regard. We are taking action as per law.”
The notices were sent yesterday under the provisions of section 160 of the CrPC.
A case was registered by the ACB on June 20 in connection with the alleged scam linking Mrs Dikshit.
The ACB had received two complaints with regard to the alleged scam and those named in the complaints included Dikshit and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Meena had then said that both Dikshit and Kejriwal will be quizzed in connection with the matter.
A week prior to registration of the case, the Delhi Government had sent a report of a fact-finding committee on the scam to Lt Governor Najeeb Jung. Delhi BJP leader Vijender Gupta had also filed a complaint with Jung accusing Kejriwal of “suppressing” the committee’s report for 11 months.
The Lt Governor had forwarded the committee’s report as well as Gupta’s complaint to the ACB.
Delhi’s Water Minister Kapil Mishra too had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Jung recommending either CBI or ACB probe against Dikshit in connection with the alleged scam.

The district court in Satara has sentenced a woman revenue official to three years rigorous imprisonment in a 2011 bribery case.
Special Judge V M Mohite sentenced Satara Tehsildar Supriya Subhash Bagwade to the jail term after finding her guilty under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The judge accepted the evidence produced by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and also slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 against the officer in the verdict pronounced last week.
Bagwade was caught red-handed while she was accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 on September 2, 2011.
A Satara resident had approached her for changing the status of agriculture land to non-agriculture and Bagwade had demanded Rs 20,000 to make the changes.
Later, the complainant approached the ACB office and lodged a complaint against her under the anti-corruption law

Former UDH Minister Shanti Dhariwal today appeared before the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in connection with irregularities in a land deal.
Before leaving for the ACB office in Jhalana Institutional area, Dhariwal was given a warm reception by Congress party workers and leaders who garlanded him outside PCC office
“Dhariwal has been summoned in connection with the ‘Ekal Pattaa’ (single deed) case as he was the then UDH minister when the land deed of about 14 beegha (40,000 square yards) was granted to Ganapati Construction Company by flouting rules of JDA and Rajasthan Tenancy Act”,
“The ACB had summoned Dhariwal on October 19 but after his personal request the interrogation date was shifted to October 26,” the official said.
Former senior IAS officer and the then Principal Secretary G S Sandhu and RAS officer Onkar Mal Saini are evading arrest after being summoned by ACB,
So far ACB has arrested Nishkam Diwakar, the then Secretary of UDH and now CEO of Banswara Zila Parishad as well as Shailendra Garg, owner of the construction company in the case.
