In a telephonic conversation today with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Prime Minister Modi conveyed greetings on Eid-ul-Fitr to the Government and people of the UAE.
The leaders expressed satisfaction about the effective cooperation between the two countries during the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
Prime Minister Modi thanked the Crown Prince for the support extended to Indian citizens in UAE.
PM conveyed his best wishes for the good health and well-being of the Crown Prince, the Royal Family and the people of the UAE.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on phone today with H.E. Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Prime Minister Modi conveyed greetings on Eid-ul-Fitr to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the people of Bangladesh.
The two leaders shared their assessment of the damage caused by Cyclone Amphan in both countries. The leaders also discussed the COVID pandemic situation and the ongoing collaboration between the two countries in this regard. Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed India’s support to Bangladesh in addressing these challenges.
PM conveyed his best wishes for the good health and well-being of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the friendly people of Bangladesh.

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi’s visit to Bangladesh next week to attend the birth centenary celebrations of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has been put off after the commemorative programmes were deferred due to detection of Coronavirus cases in that country, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Monday.
Decision has been taken by Bangladesh to defer the public events being organised to celebrate the birth centenary of the Father of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The deferment is on account of the detection of cases of coronavirus in Bangladesh, and the larger global public health situation in this regard.

India today denied that a team of National Security Gaurd (NSG) was visiting Bangladesh amidst reports that it was in Dhaka to study the recent terrorist attacks that have shocked that country.
External Affairs Spokesperson Vikas Swarup, who is currently in South Africa accompanying Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said,”Just to clarify, reports of an NSG team visiting Bangladesh are false.”
His remarks came amidst reports that a special team of NSG officers was visiting Bangladesh to “analyse and study” the bombings at an Eid prayer gathering yesterday and the recent terror siege at a high-end restaurant in the neighbouring country.
Officials had said that the NSG team has been authorised by the government to travel to Dhaka after the Special Forces establishment in Bangladesh approved the formers’ request to visit the spots of the terror attacks for a first-hand understanding of the situation.
The team, which includes NSG experts in post-blast analysis and counter-terror operations, was to study the July 1 incident where terrorists laid siege at a bakery and killed 22 and also analyse yesterday’s bombings in Kishoreganj area in Bangladesh,

Secretary-General Houlin Zhao announced the 18 winners of the WSIS Prizes 2015 at the WSIS High-Level Opening Segment, which was held at the headquarters of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva.
The WSIS Prizes 2015 contest provides a platform to identify and showcase success stories across the 11 WSIS Action Lines defined in the Geneva Plan of Action.
This year’s WSIS Project Prize winners include government departments+ international organizations+private sector companies+ NGOs + academia.
More than 300 projects were nominated for the 2015 contest, more than twice the number of nominations in 2014, reflecting the prestigious nature of the award and the growing importance of ICTs in national development strategies.
The awards are conferred through online voting involving over 100,000 stakeholders from around the world.
