Gurbani Amrit Showered In Rashtrapati Bhavan And President pays floral tributes to Guru Nanak Dev Ji
A Gurbani Recital was organized on the occasion of the 546th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji at Rashtrapati Bhavan today (November 6, 2014).
The Vice President, Shri Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi were among the dignitaries who attended the event.
The Recital was conducted by Bhai Chamanjit Singh and party.
The President also paid floral tributes to Guru Nanak Dev Ji on the occasion.

Pranab Mukherjee paid tributes to Guru Nanak Dev Ji on the occasion his 546th Birth Anniversary, at Rashtrapati Bhavan,In a message, the President has said, “On the auspicious occasion of the birthday of Guru Nanak Devji, I extend greetings and good wishes to all my fellow citizens.
Guru Nanak Devji’s message of compassion and equality of all human beings is of timeless relevance. Let us on this day recall his sublime teachings and strive for the upliftment of the weak and downtrodden in order to create a society devoid of all social distinctions. May we imbibe the noble teachings of the Guru in our daily lives and strengthen the bonds of unity and oneness in our society”.
The Vice President of India Shri M. Hamid Ansari In his message, has said that Guru Nanak’s divine message of truth, compassion and tolerance has eternal relevance for liberation of humanity from violence, bigotry and injustice. He has called upon people to commit themselves to follow the noble path shown by Guru Nanak Dev ji and work collectively towards building a just and humane society.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has Tweeted “I bow to the venerable Guru Nanak Devji on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti. The life & teachings of Guru Nanak Devji inspire us eternally. Let us follow the path of compassion, truth and peace as shown by him.
