Chief Minister Of Haryana ML Khattar addressed the Veterans Rally at Bahadurgarh Also
Foundation stone of Jai Jawan Awas Yojna (JJAY), an initiative to provide affordable housing to serving and retired JCOs and Other Ranks, was laid by Manohar Lal Khattar, the Chief Minister of Haryana, at Bahadurgarh, today.
General Dalbir Singh, Chief of Army Staff was the Guest of Honour during the event.
Lieutenant General KJ Singh Western Army Commander was also present apart from large number of Veterans & Veer Naaris.
The project is being executed by Army Welfare Housing Organization and aims to provide low cost housing.
This housing project has been named in the memory of Late Major Rajiv Joon, recipient of Ashok Chakra and Shaurya Chakra, who had attained martyrdom fighting militants in Anantnag district of Jammu & Kashmir.
On this occasion, his brother Paramjit Singh Joon was felicitated by the Chief Minister
Chief Minister and the COAS. Gen Dalbir Singh announced that the residential project at Bahadurgarh would be pitched at a very low cost for the benefit of JCOs and Other Ranks.
He praised Late Major Rajiv Joon for setting a sterling example of bravery and sacrifice. While addressing the veteran community, he highlighted that 14 January was being celebrated as ‘Veterans Day’ and urged veterans to visit Directorate of Indian Army Veterans (DIAV) in Delhi to get their grievances addressed.
Manohar Lal Khattar, added that over 3000 Ex Servicemen will be inducted into Haryana Police and that a Sainik School was also being raised at Matanhail, apart form other schemes and welfare projects by the government.

CISF Also received the trophy for being the best marching contingent among para- military forces.
The Brigade of The Guards and the Sikh Regiment were collectively awarded the “Best Marching Contingents Trophy for Republic Day Parade 2015” by Chairman Chief of Staff Committee, Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha, during an award ceremony held at Ministry of Defence, New Delhi on 11 Feb 2015.
Capt Aditya Tanwar, Brigade of The Guards Contingent Commander along with Brig DV Singh, Centre Commandant, the Guards Regimental Centre and Lt Vikram Grewal, Sikh Regiment Contingent Commander along with Brig KBK Kesab, Centre Commandant, the Sikh Regimental Centre, jointly received the Trophy.
Gen Dalbir Singh, The Chief of the Army Staff, Lt Gen Ashok Singh, General Officer Commanding in Chief, Southern Command and ‘Colonel’ of The Brigade of The Guards and Lt Gen G S Shergill, Chief of Staff, Central Command and ‘Colonel’ of the Sikh Regiment & other Senior Officers from MoD and Paramilitary Force were present for the Award Ceremony.
Later, The COAS also presented cash awards to the contingents of the Brigade of the Guards and Sikh Regiment in a separate ceremony.

Chief of the Army Staff Takes Over as the Honorary Colonel of Rashtriya Rifles
Army Chief Gen Dalbir Singh, takes over as the Honorary Colonel of the Rashtriya Rifles on 30 September 2014. He has been closely associated with the Rashtriya Rifles since its inception, when as a Colonel, he raised and commanded 33 Rashtriya Rifles Battalion.
Seeking his continued support, the Director General Rashtriya Rifles reaffirmed Rashtriya Rifle’s commitment towards restoration of peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir. On his part, the Army Chief assured all help to Rashtriya Rifles and paid rich tributes to the Force for its contribution to the nation over years.
Raised in 1990, the Rashtriya Rifles is a special Counter Insurgency Force which has rendered yeoman service in Jammu and Kashmir. The Force has also played a stellar role in development and integration and has woven itself closely into the fabric of Jammu and Kashmir. More than 1600 officers and Jawans of Rashtriya Rifles have laid down their lives in the line of duty in order to ensure safety, security and integrity of the nation.

Arun Jaitley Visited EasternTheatre Behrampore Military Station W B

Defence Minister Shri Arun Jaitley Today visited Eastern Theatre and was briefed on the upcoming Behrampore Military Station, in Murshidabad District of West Bengal
General Dalbir Singh, COAS, who is on a visit to Eastern Theatre from 23 to 25 Aug 14 and Lt Gen MMS Rai, Eastern Army Commander were also present during the 30-minute briefing . This Briefing Was held near the camp site Where foundation plaque was earlier laid by the Hon`ble President, Shri Pranab Mukherjee in February 14.
The Rs. 600 Cr project in the 250-acre land is set to be an eco-friendly `model military camp` that will be replicated in all future infrastructural developments of similar military stations wherever feasible. This Project will also boost the local economy in the area.
Before leaving for Behrampore early today, Army Top Brass laid a wreath at the Vijay Smarak.
The Army Chief also visited Panagarh Military Camp where he took stock of on going preparations for raising of the Army`s Strike Corps. He thereafter left for a two-day visit of forward areas in the Eastern Sector
