As per a DDA official ,smoke due to fire was sighted around 11 am after which many employees ran out of the building while efforts were also made to control the fire before the firefighters arrived.
Four ACs and furniture, including 100 chairs kept in the hall that was locked, were burnt.

NGT notice to EDMC for a Restaurant causing pollution
The National Green Tribunal has issued notice to the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) on a plea seeking closure of a restaurant in East Delhi for allegedly causing air and water pollution.
A bench headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Swatanter Kumar sought response from EDMC and asked its concerned officer to be present before it on November 10 on the plea of a local resident claiming commercial use of the property in a residential area.
“The counsel appearing for Delhi Development Authority submits that there is apparent commercial use of the property in a residential area. However, he states that East Delhi Municipal Corporation is an appropriate authority to take action as the property in question has already been handed over to the East Delhi Municipal Corporation.
The tribunal directed the officer concerned of East Delhi Municipal Corporation along with that of Delhi Development Authority to be present before it on November 10, the next date of hearing.
The NGT was hearing a plea filed by Praveen Gupta seeking closure of the restaurant-cum-party hall in Dilshad Garden

केंद्र सरकार ने आज बताया कि दिल्ली विकास प्राधिकरण के करीब 8500 आवंटियों ने अपने फ्लैट वापस लौटा दिये हैं। इस आवासीय योजना में मकान लौटाने वाले ये करीब एक तिहाई आवंटी हैं।
शहरी विकास राज्य मंत्री बाबुल सुप्रियो ने एक सवाल के लिखित जवाब में राज्यसभा को यह जानकारी दी। उन्होंने बताया कि डीडीए ने सूचित किया है कि आवासीय योजना 2014 के तहत जिन लोगों को फ्लैट आवंटित किया गया था उनमें से करीब 8500 ने अपने फ्लैट लौटा दिये हैं।
उन्होंने बताया कि अधिकतर मामलों में आवंटियों ने फ्लैट लौटाने का कोई विशिष्ट कारण नहीं बताया है।
उन्होंने बताया कि डीडीए ने सूचित किया है कि आर्थिक रूप से कमजोर श्रेणी के लिए बनाये जाने वाले फ्लैटों में से कई को निम्न आय वर्ग की आवासीय योजना में तब्दील किया जाएगा

In the wake of most of its commercial plots not getting disposed in the last few years, DDA has decided to engage two independent valuers for fixation of reserve price.
“The Price Fixation Committee will engage two independent valuers and the higher of the reserve prices recommended by the two will be the reserve price,” the DDA said.
The decision was taken during the Authority meeting of the urban body today.
“It has been observed for over the last 2-5 years that DDA has not been able to dispose of most of its commercial plots.
As per feedback the disposal was found to be hindered due to high reserve price fixed by DDA,” it said in a statement.
The issue of properties located in 22 Nazul Estates like Paharganj, Karol Bagh, among others, where the properties are being used for purposes other than prescribed use was also discussed in the Authority meeting.
