PMO Introduces New Chapter In Redressal By Calling Grieved Complainants

[New Delhi] PMO Introduces New Chapter In Grievance Redressal By Calling Grieved Complainants
MoS Dr. Jitendra Singh Personally Calls Up Complainants Who Lodged Grievances
The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions,Atomic Energy and Space,
Dr Jitendra Singh randomly called up on telephone as a part of the periodic exercise started by him to personally speak to complainants in order to confirm the redressal of their grievance and also to assess their level of satisfaction, The Minister also received some of the spontaneous responses from the complainants he called.
Shri Sanjay Sati from West Patel Nagar, New Delhi, working in the Department of Animal Husbandry said that he was overwhelmed by this experience. He said that he received calls from different officers in Department of Administrative Reforms & Grievances (ARPG), culminating in a final call from the Minister In-charge himself to ensure the redressal of his grievance relating to “Modified Assured Career Progression” (MACP).
Another complainant,
Shri Bharat Sarmalkar from Tilak Nagar, Chembur in Maharasthra, said that his Passport renewal case had been pending for the last three months and it was amazing that when he filed his grievance with ARPG, he received the new renewed passport within no time, followed by a phone call from the office and now a phone call from the Minister in-charge himself.
Shri Gyan Singh from Haiderpur, Delhi was thankful because since his retirement from DDA as a Staff Car Driver, he had been receiving only provisional pension and was denied the pension benefits due to non-regularization of suspension period during the service.
He said, he filed his complaint with the ARPG as last resort and not only his pension benefits were released, but he also received a phone call from ARPG confirming the same.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that in the last two years, not only the grievance redressal mechanism under the government had been made proactive, but there was also an attempt to reach out to complainants directly. The result of this, he said, was that before the present government came in, the number of grievances / complaints per year was only 2 lakh, which had in last two years gone up to over 6 lakh per year because of prompt and satisfactory redressal of most of the complaints.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, a mechanism has been evolved to review the status of grievance redressal on weekly basis and mostly the percentage of grievance redressal is more than 85% every week. Even in the current week ending on last working day of 19th August at 6:00 pm, out of 16890 complaints received, 16414 amounting to 97% had been disposed off.
Those of the complaints which remain unaddressed and for which sometimes there are reminders on the Social Media, he said, the actual reasons are either technical or subjective reasons of complaint which may not be amenable to response under existing rules and regulations.

AAP Led Delhi Govt Knocks HC Against DDA For Auctioning Land Of Schools

[New Delhi]AAP Led Delhi Govt Knocks High Court Against DDA For Allotting Land Allocated For Minority’s Schools .It Is Also Interesting To Mention That The Land Can Be Obtained By Auction Only
The AAP government which had informed Delhi High Court it was exploring possibilities to allot land for a minority school which has been functioning from tents since its demolition 40 years ago during Emergency, has now said allotment of land would be done by the DDA.
The submission was made before a bench of Chief Justice G Rohini and Justice Jayant Nath, during hearing of a plea that despite promises of land and building, nothing was done and the school continued to function in a “tattered, tented and tinned structure, without a building” since 1976.
“The allotment of land for institutional purpose including schools is done by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA)…The court may issue appropriate direction to DDA,” Delhi government has said in its affidavit.
DDA on the other hand told the court that in “accordance with a gazette notification of April 19, 2006, issued by the Ministry of Urban Development, at present the land for schools can be got through auction only.”
The Delhi government’s response came in the backdrop of the court’s notice issued on a PIL seeking reconstruction of the building of the minority school.
The PIL filed by civil activist Firoz Bakht Ahmed contended the state of affairs at the Qaumi School was “sad and pitiable” as it was functioning from the grounds of the Eidgah at Quresh Nagar in Old Delhi after its building was demolished on June 30, 1976, during Emergency.
The PIL has contended that children from the “down-trodden and backward class have to suffer due to threats of closure, makeshift classrooms, leaking roofs and no proper facilities.

DDA’s Dumped Construction Material Causing Air Pollution In capital,Remove:HC

[New Delhi] DDA’s Dumped Construction Material Causing Air Pollution In capital,Remove:HC
High Court today Directed DDA To Remove rubble immediately from its land
Delhi High Court today directed DDA to ensure “immediate removal” of construction material dumped on the authority’s vacant lands in Dwarka, saying this was a major cause of air pollution in the national capital.
A bench of justices Badar Durrez Ahmed and Sanjeev Sachdeva also directed Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to ensure that people do not dump rubble or ‘malba’ on its lands at night and suggested putting in place guards or CCTV cameras to curb such practice and identify the guilty.
The court also noted that there was some improvement in the work done by South Delhi municipal corporation (SDMC) to keep the surroundings of ‘dhalaos’ (garbage dumps) clean as well as in clearing of rubbish, but said the steps taken were not “fully satisfactory”.
SDMC assured the court that it would work harder to ensure cleanliness in Dwarka sub-city and that disciplinary action would be taken against non performers.
The court also suggested to SDMC to clean the dhalaos thrice a day if they were only doing it twice a day, to which the corporation said it lacks the manpower to do so, especially now when most of its workers were on strike.
The bench, thereafter, listed the matter for further hearing on February 24.
The court was hearing a PIL filed by law students Ebbani Aggarwal and Gaurav, both Dwarka residents, on the issue of lack of cleanliness in the sub-city.
During the brief hearing, DDA told the court that the construction material was being dumped unauthorisedly and surreptitiously by local residents at night. It said it was removing the rubble as and when it came across such dumping.
SDMC said it had detected construction material at 33 DDA sites in Dwarka and informed the DDA’s chief engineer.
