 Punjab’s main opposition party AAP on Tuesday held statewide protests and its workers observed fast over the alleged multi-crore post matric scholarship scam.
As per Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Harpal Singh Cheema , hunger strike and demonstrations led by district incharges of the party’s SC wing were held in front of the offices of deputy commissioners in all districts.
Allegations of Rs 64 crore misappropriation from the scholarship fund for Scheduled Caste students had surfaced last year.
Thereafter, the chief minister had directed the state chief secretary to conduct a thorough inquiry.
The chief secretary’s had exonerated Dharamsot.
The Aam Aadmi Party leader also demanded that the state government release pending amount of Rs 1,539 crore under the Post Matric Scholarship for Scheduled Castes (PMS-SCs)

A Group of Punjab Ministers has decided to recommend to the Chief Minister waiver of annual license fee of the Bars for the years 2020-21,
Similarly, quarterly assessed fee for the first two quarters i.e. April-June and July-September, 2020 to be charged from the Bars may be waived off, they have decided to suggest to the Chief Minister.
Bar Associations made their representation to the Group, comprising Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal, Housing & Urban Development Minister Sukhbinder Sarkaria and Forests and Printing & Stationery Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the hotels, restaurants and marriage palaces are closed since March, 2020, due to which the Associations said they were suffering heavy losses. Till date, business activity was at a standstill, they represented to the Group of Ministers.

[Chd,Pb]Pb Minister “Dharamsot” Not Transparent On Spendings of Rs 5.78 Crore For Nature Parks
MLA Randeep Singh Nabha ,in Assembly ,said that he was not satisfied with state Forest Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot’s reply on the money spent on nature parks.
During the Question Hour, the Congress legislator from Amloh seat said Dharmasot could not give a reply on the details of the funds spent on the nature parks.
Nabha, not satisfied with the reply, even flashed photographs of the Rajiv Gandhi park and claimed it had become a garbage dumping ground.
“This park does not figure in the list given by the minister. Why the government was hiding if we do not want to give reply? Let there be a probe,”
In his reply, Dharamsot said a nature park has been developed in Patiala and 10 other parks are being developed in other districts of the state and the expenditure on the same was estimated to Rs 5.78 crore.
