Student Filmmakers are Full of Original Concepts:Prof.Diwakar In IFFI Goa


Professor of Cinematography in Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, B.Diwakar, addressed a press conference today at 45th IFFI. Director of the student film ‘Srinivas’. Satyajit Ganu and Anisha Saigal Were Also In The Camera
Professor B. Diwakar said that the budding filmmakers are promising and full of original concepts. One should be passionate about cinema and Film institutes can only mould them to a certain extent.
IFFI is providing suitable platform to student filmmakers to promote good cinema
. Answering the question regarding budget constraints for the student filmmakers, he said that budget constraints make filmmakers more disciplined and creative. Constraints are the mother of creation, he added.
SatyajitGanu, speaking about the film said that Srinivas is the story about the aspirations of a young boy which he expresses in the form of an essay. Anisha Saigal said that the film deals with imagination of a twelve-year-old boy about an ideal set of parents and home which the protagonist is always deprived of.

One of the Hong Kong’s most celebrated filmmakers Wong Kar-Wai will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 45th edition of IFFI.
Goa is gearing up to host upcoming 45th edition of International Film Festival of India (IFFI), from 20th to 30th November, 2014. Face lifting is in progress at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium, Bambolim where closing and opening ceremonies will be held and at Kala Academy, Panaji where opening and closing films will be screened. Theaters are also being revamped.
Sushant Tari – Art Director of IFFI is designing decor for IFFI 2014. Main decor revolves around the IFFI peacock. He has also designed the cover for the IFFI guide.
From now onwards Goa will be the permanent venue for organizing IFFI.
Of the films being screened at festival, fifteen shortlisted films will contend for the following awards at the 45th IFFI:
[1]BEST FILM
The Award carries a cash prize of Rs. 40,00,000/- to be shared equally between the Director and the Producer. Director to be given the Golden Peacock and a certificate in addition to the cash component. Producer to be given a certificate in addition to the cash component.
[2]BEST DIRECTOR
The award carries a Silver Peacock, a Certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 15,00,000/-BEST ACTOR (MALE)
The award carries a Silver Peacock, a Certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 10,00,000/-
[3]BEST ACTOR (FEMALE)
The award carries a Silver Peacock, a Certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 10,00,000/-
[4]SPECIAL JURY AWARD
The award carries a Silver Peacock, a Certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 15,00,000/- given to a film (for any aspect of the film which the jury wishes to award/acknowledge) or an individual (for his/her artistic contribution to a film). The award, if given to a film, will be given to the Director of the film.
[5]LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
The prestigious award consisting of a cash prize of Rs. 10,00,000/-, Certificate, shawl and a scroll is conferred upon a master filmmaker for his/her outstanding contribution to cinema.
[6]CENTENARY AWARD FOR INDIAN FILM PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR
This prestigious award consisting of a cash prize of Rs. 10,00,000/-, Certificate, shawl and Medal (Silver Peacock) is conferred upon an Indian film personality for his/her outstanding contribution to Indian cinema.
[7]CENTENARY AWARD
Silver Peacock, a Certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 10,00,000/-, (To be given to a feature film that reflects a new paradigm in motion pictures in terms of aesthetic, technique or technological innovation). Feature films falling in the categories of International Competition, Cinema of the World and Indian Panorama will qualify for this award.

Out Of Twenty Six Feature Films Two Feature Films In Hindi Only Would Be Screened in Indian Panorama for 45th International Film Festival of India, IFFI 2014 Goa
Apart From Two Hindi Movies, Five Movies Are Selected In Bengali+Seven each Are In Malayalam And Marathi.
One Each From Assamese+Kannada +Khasi+Udiya+Tamil
Indian Panorama 2014 announced its final selection of Feature and Non-Feature films to be screened at 45th International Film Festival of India, IFFI, 2014 to be held in Goa. The Jury for Feature Films headed by renowned filmmaker Shri A.K.Bir selected 26 films out of a total of 181 eligible entries.
ELIZABETH EKADASHI (Director: Paresh Mokashi) has been chosen as the Opening Film by the Feature Film Jury of Indian Panorama 2014. Following 26 Feature Films would be Screened at the 45th International Film Festival of India 2014.
