[New Delhi] Internet Mughal Google Devoted Todays Doodle To Pt Ravi Shankar on His 96th Birth Anniversary
Search engine giant Google today paid tribute to sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar with a special Doodle commemorative logo on his 96th birth anniversary.
The Doodle features a sitar in between the Google logo.
One of the greatest names in Indian music, Shankar is also credited for taking Indian sitar to the global stage.
He is the only Indian musician to have five Grammy awards including a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013.
He also shared a close bond with late Beatle George Harrison.
Shankar died on December 11, 2012 at the age of 92. His daughters Anoushka Shankar and Norah Jones are famous musicians in their own right

Google celebrates Holi with gulaal-splashed doodle
A liberal splash of colours today welcomed Google users on its homepage as the search giant marked the Holi festival with a special doodle which reflects the vibrancy of the occasion.
The doodle shows the six letters in the company’s logo changing colours gradually from all beige to a mix of red, blue, green and orange in various shades.
As soon as one visits the homepage, the all beige logo begins to change appearance as a train of colour splashes across it from left to right.
The splash of ‘gulaal’, the dry colour on the logo is a tribute to traditional way of celebrating Holi in the country.
Google had marked Holi a few times in the past as well and in 2014, it had shown a ‘pichkari’ (spraygun) sitting amid the colour-soaked logo, with letters in all white. It has previously marked festival of lights Diwali also with a special doodle.
The festival falls on the last day of the ‘Phalgun’ month as per the Hindu calendar.

मशहूर गायक के 67 वें जन्मदिन के अवसर पर गूगल ने डूडल बनाकर महान गायक को अपनी तरफ से श्रद्धांजलि दी।
डूडल में ‘सांवरे’ के गायक अपना बाएं हाथ उठाए हुए हैं जो गूगल की वर्तनी में अंग्रेजी के ‘एल’ हिज्जे को दर्शा रहा है।
प्रतिष्ठित कव्वाली गायक का जन्म पाकिस्तान के फैसलाबाद में 13 अक्तूबर 1948 को हुआ था। उन्होंने ही सूफी कव्वाली को अन्तरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर पहचान दिलाई।
खान की मृत्यु 17 अगस्त 1997 को दिल का दौरा पड़ने के कारण महज 48 साल की उम्र में हो गई थी।
‘अल्लाह हो’, ‘आफरीन आफरीन’, ‘तेरे बिन नहीं लगता’, ‘किन्ना सोहना’ और ‘सांनू एक पल चैन न आवे’ खान की मशहूर कव्वालियां हैं।
‘धड़कन’, ‘कच्चे धागे’, ‘और प्यार हो गया’, और ‘बैंडिट क्वीन’ जैसी बॉलीवुड फिल्मों में भी नुसरत ने कई हिट गाने दिए।गुरु नानक की वाणी को अपनी आवाज में गाकर उन्होंने अनेकों श्रोताओं को मदहोश किया

गौरतलबा ही कि यह पिताओं के सम्मान में एक व्यापक रूप से मनाया जाने वाला पर्व हैं जिसमे पितृत्व (फादरहुड), पितृत्व-बंधन तथा समाज में पिताओं के प्रभाव को समारोह पूर्वक मनाया जाता है। अनेक देशों में इसे जून के तीसरे रविवार+तथा अन्य दिन मनाया जाता है।फादर्स डे की शुरुआत बीसवीं सदी के प्रारंभ में पिताधर्म तथा पुरुषों द्वारा परवरिश का सम्मान करने के लिये मातृ-दिवस के पूरक उत्सव के रूप में हुई. यह हमारे पूर्वजों की स्मृति और उनके सम्मान में भी मनाया जाता है। फादर्स डे पर उपहार देना+ पिता के लिये विशेष भोज +पारिवारिक गतिविधियाँ शामिल हैं। इस पर्व को मनाने के पीछे भी अनेकों धारणाएं विद्यमान है इनमे से एक के अनुसार यह सबसे पहले पश्चिम वर्जीनिया के फेयरमोंट में 5 जुलाई 1908 को मनाया गया था। कई महीने पहले 6 दिसम्बर 1907 को मोनोंगाह, पश्चिम वर्जीनिया में एक खान दुर्घटना में मारे गए 210 पिताओं के सम्मान में इस विशेष दिवस का आयोजन श्रीमती ग्रेस गोल्डन क्लेटन ने किया था। प्रथम फादर्स डे चर्च आज भी सेन्ट्रल यूनाइटेड मेथोडिस्ट चर्च के नाम से फेयरमोंट में मौजूद है।
