Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today launched his ‘Chai pe Charcha’ or ‘conversation over tea’ campaign and interacted with scores of party workers and people at different places in the state.
He attended about a dozen programmes from Panchkula to Jind to get feedback about the functioning of his government which is about to complete four years in office.
Deviating from his normal routine, Khattar was not accompanied by many of his officers as he approached the people directly, took their feedback and jotted down notes in his diary.
Khattar, who has also been holding road shows across the state, started the campaign from Panchkula where he visited the residence of BJP General Secretary of the district, Surender Sharma, in village Naggal.
Interacting with the media, Khattar said he would visit different villages of district Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal and Jind and interact with party workers. He will also reach out to people through his roadshows and public meetings

A man, who hurled ink at Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar at a public event here, was remanded to one-day police custody by a local court today.
Praveen Sawant, a resident of Jakhod Khera village in Hisar district, was produced before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Nidhi Gupta.
The incident had created a commotion even as it revealed chinks in the politician’s security.
Security personnel accompanying the chief minister grappled with Sawant as he shouted slogans and then handed him over to the local police.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar along with his cabinet ministers and party MLAs today cycled to the Legislative Assembly in a bid to encourage people to opt for eco-friendly transportation.
62-year-old M L Khattar and many others rode bicycles to cover the short distance of over one km from the chief minister’s residence to the Assembly, some of the women MLAs travelled by e-rickshaws.
The chief minister later told reporters that they wanted to give a message to people to make more use of environment-friendly mode of transports.
He said though their gesture was “symbolic”, but they want a message should go out that using bicycles is not only good for health, but also environment-friendly.
Notably, on the opening day of the monsoon session of Haryana Assembly on Friday, BJP MLA Pawan Kumar Saini had pedalled around 110 km from his constituency in Kurukshetra district to reach the Assembly in Chandigarh.

Haryana had been pressing the Central Government for release of the payment on account of CST compensation
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, for releasing Central Sales Tax (CST) Pertaining to 2010-11.to Haryana.
Haryana Government has also sought interim relief of Rs.500 crore from Centre to compensate the loss of farmers.
