45 IPS Officers Technically Resigned During Past Three Years
As many as 105 civil servants have left services mid-way during the last three years, including 45 officers who resigned to join other all India services, the Lok Sabha was told today.
Except 45 officers of Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Forest Service (IFoS) who resigned technically to join Indian Administrative Service (IAS) or other central civil services, others left due to personal reasons, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Jitendra Singh said in a written reply.Recoveries of dues have not been made in 45 cases of IPS officers as resignation was tendered by officers to join other all India services or central services. But Amount due has been recovered in respect of two IAS officers who underwent long-term training and resigned subsequently from the service,”
In case of probationary training, the rules provide that a probationer shall execute an agreement to refund any money paid to him including pay and travelling expenses to join the appointment, in the event of the failure of the probationer to complete probation to the satisfaction of the central government.

Women candidates have bagged all the three top slots in the prestigious Civil Services examination to select IAS and IPS officers among others.
[1]Ira Singhal
has topped the examination followed by
[2]Renu Raj + [3]Nidhi Gupta,
who have secured second and third positions respectively, according to the results announced by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) today.
Ira and Nidhi, who hail from Delhi, are Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Central Excise) officers whereas, Renu Raj is a doctor by profession. She hails from Kerala.
As Per PTI Ira topped the exam in general category despite being physically handicapped. “I want to be an IAS officer. I want to do something for the benefit of physically-handicapped people,” she said.
Renu Raj got the second rank in her first attempt.
Renu Raj, who works in a hospital in Kollam in Kerala, hails from Kottayam.
Third rank holder Nidhi said it is a proud moment for her to get selected in the examination. Nidhi is presently Assistant Commissioner of Customs and Central Excise.

Arvind Ranjan, IPS (KL:77) has been retired on superannuation on 30.04.2015
