President Obama Reitereted,US Will Destroy Terrorist Islamic State By Air Attacks

[Washington DC] President Barack Obama Reitereted That US Will Destroy Terrorist Islamic State .Asserting that the ISIS does not speak for Islam, Obama urged Islamic leaders across the world to speak out against the terrorist outfit and its ideology.
Asserting that the US will “destroy” Islamic State, President Barack Obama today sought to reassure terror-struck Americans that the country would overcome a “new phase” of threat but ruled out sending large scale troops on the ground to defeat the terror group.
In a rare address to the nation from his Oval Office of the White House aimed at calming a jittery country after a mass shooting in California that killed 14 Americans, Obama said the threat from terrorism is real, but the US will overcome it.
Obama said his strategy to destroy ISIS is designed and supported by US military commanders and counter-terrorism experts, together with 65 countries that have joined an American-led coalition targeting the terror outfit.
He Said “We will destroy ISIL (another name for ISIS) and any other organisation that tries to harm us. Our success won’t depend on tough talk, or abandoning our values or giving into fear. That’s what groups like ISIL are hoping for. Instead, we will prevail by being strong and smart, resilient and relentless. And by drawing upon every aspect of American power,”
In his speech, Obama once again ruled out sending large scale troops on the ground.
President Said “We should not be drawn once more into a long and costly ground war in Iraq or Syria. That’s what groups like ISIL want. They know they can’t defeat us on the battlefield. ISIL fighters were part of the insurgency that we faced in Iraq,”
“But they also know that if we occupy foreign lands, they can maintain insurgencies for years, killing thousands of our troops and draining our resources, and using our presence to draw new recruits,”
President added “The strategy that we are using now — air strikes, special forces and working with local forces who are fighting to regain control of their own country — that is how we’ll achieve a more sustainable victory, and it won’t require us sending a new generation of Americans overseas to fight and die for another decade on foreign soil,”
Obama described the California incident in which a radicalised couple — Pakistani national Tashfeen Malik, and her husband, Syed Rizwan Farook, of Pakistani-origin — killed 14 people in San Bernardino as an “act of terrorism”.
Noting that over the last few years the terrorist threat has evolved into a “new phase”, Obama said, “As groups like ISIL grew stronger amidst the chaos of war in Iraq and then Syria, and as the internet erases the distance between countries, we see growing efforts by terrorists to poison the minds of people like the Boston Marathon bombers and the San Bernardino killers.”

[Washington D C]Barack Obama Reiterates, barbaric ISIL Is a Threat to World Peace
American President Barack Obama Joined International Military Leaders and Discussed Coalition Efforts Against ISIL
President Obama met with more than 20 foreign chiefs of defense for this burning cause
President Obama participates in this meeting hosted by Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, with more than 20 foreign chiefs of defense to discuss the coalition efforts in the ongoing campaign against New Terrorist Group ISIL.
Gen. Lloyd J. Austin III, Commander, U.S. Central Command also participated in the meeting at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, Oct. 14, 2014.
President Obama traveled to Joint Base Andrews, just outside of Washington, D.C., to attend this meeting
At the meeting, leaders discussed the progress in the coalition’s efforts to date. In his remarks after the meeting with DoD leaders, the President said that destroying ISIL “remains a difficult mission,” and made clear that it won’t happen overnight.
“The good news,” he said, “is that there is a broad-based consensus not just in the region but among nations of the world that ISIL is a threat to world peace, security and order, that their barbaric behavior has to be dealt with.”
60 partners and nations have joined the coalition to combat ISIL. Allies are contributing in a number of ways, including:
Flying sorties (combat missions by individual aircraft) in support of coalition airstrikes — nine countries have flown sorties so far, including five Arab partners in Syria
Sending arms and assistance to Iraqi security forces and the Syrian opposition and sharing intelligence
Providing billions of dollars in humanitarian aid for the victims of conflict in the region
This meeting follows two additional meetings President Obama had at the Pentagon last Wednesday — one with Defense Department leadership on ISIL+ Ebola, global security+ defense budget+follow-up meeting with the National Security Council on the implementation of the U.S. strategy to counter ISIL.

Barack Obama Continues To Lead And Stand Strong Against Terrorist ISIL

[WASHINGTON, DC]America continues to lead and stand strong against terror.
President Barack Obama Reiterated His Commitment For Down gradation And Destruction Of Terrorist Group ISIL.
In His weekly address, the President Obama reiterated his comprehensive and sustained counter-terrorism strategy to degrade and ultimately destroy the terrorist group ISIL.
Obama,s plan brings together a campaign of targeted airstrikes+increased support for Iraqi and Kurdish forces already taking on terrorists+assistance from allies and partners+ expanded efforts to train and equip the Syrian opposition+ and ongoing humanitarian aid for those displaced by ISIL.
The President expressed his immense appreciation for the military men and women who make these efforts possible, and reminded the world that America continues to lead and stand strong against terror.
Obama SAYS
“As Commander in Chief, my highest priority is the security of the American people. And I’ve made it clear that those who threaten the United States will find no safe haven.
Thanks to our military and counterterrorism professionals, we took out Osama bin Laden, much of al Qaeda’s leadership in Afghanistan and Pakistan, and leaders of al Qaeda affiliates in Yemen and Somalia. We’ve prevented terrorist attacks, saved American lives and made our homeland more secure.
Today, the terrorist threat is more diffuse, from al Qaeda affiliates and other extremists—like ISIL in Syria and Iraq. As I said this week, our intelligence community has not yet detected specific ISIL plots against our homeland. But its leaders have repeatedly threatened the United States. And, if left unchecked, these terrorists could pose a growing threat beyond the Middle East, including to the United States. So we’re staying vigilant. And we’re moving ahead with our strategy to degrade and ultimately destroy this terrorist organization.
To meet a threat like this, we have to be smart. We have to use our power wisely. And we have to avoid the mistakes of the past. American military power is unmatched, but this can’t be America’s fight alone. And the best way to defeat a group like ISIL isn’t by sending large numbers of American combat forces to wage a ground war in the heart of the Middle East. That wouldn’t serve our interests. In fact, it would only risk fueling extremism even more.”
