.The Vice President also sent a message to the White House email list this afternoon, in which he explained that “it’s our sacred obligation” to care for our troops not only when they go to war, but also when they return home.

Obama Says “It’s On Us” asks everyone — men and women across America — to make a personal commitment to step off the sidelines and be part of the solution to campus sexual assault.
one in five women has been sexually assaulted during her college years
— one in five,” the President noted. “Of those assaults, only 12 % are reported, and of those reported assaults, only a fraction of the offenders are punished.”
To work so hard to make it through the college gates only to be assaulted is “an affront to our basic humanity,” the President said.
It is on all of us to reject the quiet tolerance of sexual assault and to refuse to accept what’s unacceptable.”

Sending guidance to every school district+college+ university that receives federal funding on their legal obligations to prevent and respond to sexual assault
the White House Task Force is Created to Protect Students from Sexual Assault to work with colleges and universities
existing laws being Reviewed to make sure they adequately protect victims of sexual assault

Yesterday, former White House Press Secretary James Brady passed away in Alexandria, Virginia at the age of 73
After being shot and almost killed in an assassination attempt on President Ronald Reagan in 1981, Brady recovered and became a symbol of the ongoing fight against gun violence.

Jim Brady defined the role of the modern White House Press Secretary. With his passing we lost a friend and mentor, and the country lost a selfless public servant who dedicated his life to service, even in the face of tragedy. He had a true affection and respect for the press, relished a good sparring with the front row, and was an unfailing defender of the President and the value of a free press. Jim set the model and standard for the rest of us to follow. It’s been a genuine honor for each of us to stand at the podium in the briefing room that will always bear his name. To Ensure Americans To Have Right Skills for Workforce, President Obama announced an award over $500 million in job training and apprenticeship grants
President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden traveled to the Community College of Allegheny County in Oakdale, Pennsylvania and talked about the importance of reforming America’s job training programs.
In his remarks,Obama announced a nearly $500 million competition in which the federal government will award grants to community colleges and employers partnering together to develop job-Driven training programs.
In this year’s State of the Union address, President Obama announced that Vice President Biden would lead a reform of America’s job training programs, making sure that these programs “train Americans with the skills employers need, and match them to good jobs that need to be filled right now.”
President and Vice President visited the Community College of Allegheny County in Oakdale, Pennsylvania to announce progress on that reform.

बिडेन ने कहा कि जनवरी में गन वायलेंस के पीड़ितों केपरिजनों आदि से मुलाक़ात करते समय गन कल्चर वायलेंस को कम करने के लिए युद्ध छेड़ने का आश्वासन दिया था| यधपि कुछ सीनेटरों ने कामन सेन्स लेजिस्लेशन के प्रति अरुचि दिखाई थी लेकिन इस पर भी देश में बच्चों और नागरिकों की रक्षा के लिए आगे बढने का निर्णय लिया गया| आज मात्र छह माह के अंतराल में खतरनाक हाथों से घटक हथियारों को दूर रखने की दिशा में अधिकतर[२३ में से २१ एग्जिक्यूटिव एक्शन] कार्य पूर्ण कर लिया गया है|इसके लिए कानून का पालन कराने वाली संस्थाओं को और शक्तिशाली बनाया जाना है|
