As per Health Ministry1,203 have recovered or migrated,
#Maharashtra has recorded the maximum number of 876 Omicron variant cases, followed by
#Delhi at 513,
#Karnataka 333,
#Rajasthan 291,
#Kerala 284 and #Gujarat 204.
The death toll has climbed to 4,83,463 with 285 fresh fatalities.
A total of 1,52,734 new infections were reported on May 31 last year.
The 285 new #fatalities included 189 from Kerala and 20 from Maharashtra.
A total of 4,83,463 deaths due to the pandemic have been reported so far in the country, including 1,41,614 from Maharashtra, 49,305 from Kerala, 38,362 from Karnataka, 36,833 from Tamil Nadu, 25,136 from Delhi, 22,918 from Uttar Pradesh and 19,864 from West Bengal.
The health ministry stressed that more than 70 per cent of the deaths occurred due to comorbidities.

Reacting to the resignation of BS Yeddyurappa ahead of the crucial floor test, the Chief Minister said Indian democracy had been saved from total desecration at the hands of the power-hungry BJP, thanks to the Supreme Court, which had come to the rescue to uphold the Constitution of the country.
CM Said ,Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala should immediately step down on ethical grounds in view of the developments in the House,The august office of the Governor had been maligned and denigrated by Vala and the Supreme Court should order his dismissal if he fails to resign,
Captain Amarinder Singh lauded the role of the apex court in the matter, saying the judiciary still offered a ray of hope in the darkness into which India had been plunged by the malevolent forces spearheaded by the BJP.
He also commended the party leaders and MLAs in Karnataka for refusing to succumb to the pressures and temptations that were reportedly being forced their way by the BJP in the run-up to the floor test.

Draped in a green shawl on his white safari suit, B S Yeddyurappa took the oath as Karnataka chief minister today in the name of God and farmers amid chants of “Modi, Modi” and sloganeering at the Raj Bhavan.
As Governor Vajubhai Vala administered Yeddyurappa the oath of secrecy and office, the man of the moment chose to take oath in the name of God and the farmers of Karnataka.
The 75-year old Lingayat strongman, who became chief minister for a second time, was projected in the run-up to assembly election as ‘Raitha Bandhu’ – the friend of the farmers.
Before leaving for Raj Bhavan, Yeddyurappa paid his obeisance at the Radhakrishna Temple
He was accompanied by his sons B Y Raghavendra and B Y Vijayendra, senior party functionaries including union ministers D V Sadananda Gowda and Prakash Javadekar and BJP national general secretary P Muralidhar Rao.Amid Vedic hymns and playing of musical instrument ‘Naadaswaram’, the special prayers were performed.

Congress leaders today staged a protest in front of the Gandhi statue next to the Vidhana Soudha, the state secretariat, against the swearing in of B S Yeddyurappa as chief minister.
Several senior Congress leaders, including former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ashok Gehlot, Mallikarjuna Kharge, party’s General Secretary in-charge of Karnataka K C Venugopal, sat at the foot of the statue, staging the protest.
The newly elected Congress legislators, who are staying at a resort on the city outskirts, also joined the protest.
Janata Dal (Secular) legislators and leaders will also be joining the agitation soon, party sources said.
Speaking to reporters, Siddaramaiah termed as “unprecedented” Governor Vajubhai Vala’s decision to grant 15 days time to Yeddyurappa for proving majority in the assembly.
Earlier today, the Supreme Court refused to stay the swearing-in after a rare post-midnight courtroom battle unfolded dramatically over the Congress-JD(S) combine’s legal push to stall government formation.
After a nearly three-and-a-half-hour hearing beginning 2:11 AM, a three-judge apex court bench also made it clear that the swearing-in and the government formation would be subject to the final outcome of the case before it.
The bench, comprising justices A K Sikri, S A Bobde and Ashok Bhushan, posted the matter for further hearing tomorrow morning and ordered placing before it the letter of support from MLAs presented by the BJP to Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala while staking claim to form the government.

The Union Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley has said that the facilities at India’s 25 Cultural World Heritage Sites are still deficient and require restoration.
While presenting the General Budget 2015-16 in the Parliament today, the Finance Minister Shri Jaitley has stated that the facilities like landscaping restoration, signage and interpretation centres, parking, access for differently abled, amenities for visitors including securities and toilets, illumination and plans for benefiting communities around them would be restored. The Union Finance Minister Shri Jaitley has proposed to provide resources to start work along these lines for the following Heritage Sites:

2]Hampi, Karnataka
3]Kumbalgarh and other Hill Forts of Rajasthan
4] Rani ki Vav, Patan, Gujarat
