[Chandigarh,Haryana]Khattar Govt To Launch Special Buses For Girl Students
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today directed the Transport Department to seek the requirement of special buses for girl students from higher education and technical education departments.
Khattar, was presiding over a meeting to review the functioning of Transport, Housing and Jail departments here,
CM said that a provision of safe and convenient transport facility for girls studying in colleges was one of the priorities of the government,
He directed the department concerned to set up bus stops in front of new educational institutes for convenience of the students.
He asked it to make a mechanism to ensure that a student should at least have a learner’s driving license when he graduates.
He directed that a refresher course of five to seven days in ‘First Aid’ be conducted for all the drivers and conductors of Haryana Roadways.
As per official release , the recruitment process of filling up 1,495 vacant posts of heavy vehicle drivers on outsourcing policy and 930 vacant posts of conductors on regular basis has been initiated.
Installation of CCTV cameras in 300 buses of Faridabad, Gurgaon, Chandigarh, Sonipat and Panipat has been taken up as pilot project.

Burning In Jat Quota Stir Haryana’s Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said his government has returned the cheque for Rs 191.75 crore “in original” which Punjab had sent yesterday for Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal.
The Punjab Cabinet had on Tuesday decided to dispatch a cheque for Rs 191.75 crore back to Haryana which had sent it towards construction of the SYL canal. The cheque was dispatched yesterday.
The Haryana government has also moved an application in the Supreme Court seeking a stay on Punjab government’s recent move on SYL canal issue.
In a statement in the Haryana Assembly, Khattar said, “The bill concerning SYL canal has not yet been signed by the Governor.”
Punjab Assembly had on Monday passed the Punjab Satluj Yamuna Link Canal Land (Transfer of Proprietary Rights) Bill, 2016, which aims to de-notify the land acquired for construction of SYL canal, a lingering dispute between the two neighbouring states.
Khattar said he has also spoken to Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and expressed his displeasure over Punjab Government’s move on the SYL canal.
Noting that Haryana government has shown strong resentment over Punjab’s unconstitutional move on SYL canal issue, Khattar said he has returned the cheque to Punjab government.
The Haryana Chief Minister said since Punjab government’s move on SYL canal is unconstitutional, he has requested Punjab Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki not to give assent to the bill.

Attacking Haryana government over beef issue, Congress leader B S Hooda today alleged that His Successor C M Manohar Lal Khattar has taken a “U-turn” on the issue and that the BJP is bereft of a “stable policy”.”Haryana CM has taken U-turn on it.
Hooda Said ,If you want to amend it to get special permission then you have to go to the Assembly. The whole Assembly was unanimous when it passed the Cow Protection Act,”
Taking on BJP, the former Haryana Chief Minister said, “I am Arya Samaji. I am against eating of cow meat. When we said we will be opposing it, the Chief Minister has taken a U-turn because BJP has no stable policy.”
Earlier, Khattar had been quoted as saying in a section of the media that he was open to relaxing the beef ban for foreigners in the state. But later on he ruled out any plan to issue licenses and give relaxation to foreigners to consume beef in the state, where a stringent cow protection law was passed nearly 11 months ago.
Haryana’s Gauvansh Sanrakshan and Gausamvardhan Bill, passed by the Assembly in March last year, came into force in November after President Pranab Mukherjee gave his assent.
Under the provisions of the law, cow trafficking, slaughtering and eating beef are banned in the state.
BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli said, “I have not seen exactly what he (Khattar) has said and in what context he has made his comment. In any case there are different laws in terms of banning beef. These have been there from long time in different states.”
Kohli added, “Another side is the question of eating habits of individuals which is also an issue. However, whatever has to be done it has to be done within the existing legal framework.”

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today met the family of Garud Commando Gursewak Singh who was killed in Pathankot terror attack, promising a job to one member and a memorial for the slain soldier.
Khattar along with Health Minister Anil Vij, who represents Ambala Cantt assembly constituency, reached Gursewak’s native Garnala village here this morning.He expressed his condolence to the bereaved family.
The Chief Minister assured Gursewak’s father Sucha Singh that a job would be provided to any one member of the family.
He also said that a memorial would be set up.
Khattar said that Haryana and the entire country were proud of the “supreme sacrifice” by 25-year-old Gursewak.
He noted that Gursewak came from a family which has a tradition of making contribution to the defence forces as his elder brother Hardeep Singh is in the Army while father Sucha Singh too is an ex-serviceman.
Gursewak had married in November last year.

Robert Wadhera whose land deals are being probed in BJP-ruled Haryana and Rajasthan, today said that he was being subjected to a “political witch-hunt” and used as a “political tool”.
Son-in-law of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, the controversial businessman said a distinction should be made between him as an individual conducting business like anyone else and the politics of the family of his wife Priyanka Gandhi Vadra “without constantly attempting to link the two”.
Alleging that there was a “sustained political attack” on him, 46-year-old Robert claimed that BJP was using attacks on him as a “political tool whenever they need to divert public attention”.
He said he has always conducted business transparently in accordance with the law but he was being “singled out” and “lies” were spread which made it difficult for him at times to come to terms with the “way I have been portrayed”.
On the inquiry being undertaken against his business deals in Haryana and Rajasthan besides the Enforcement Directorate sending a notice to his company, he said, “There is a clear-cut political witch-hunt…. The more they hound me, the more apparent it is becoming that they are using their attacks on me as a political tool whenever they need to divert public attention.”
On the probe in Haryana where the one-man Justice S N Dhingra Commission is looking into grant of land licences to some companies including that of Vadra’s in four villages of Gurgaon, Vadra said he had not received any notices so far but has read the media reports in this regard.
The BJP government in Haryana had in May set up the Dhingra Commission to probe alleged irregularities in grant of licences by the Department of Town and Country Planning to some companies, including that of Vadra, in Sector 83 of Gurgaon for developing commercial colonies during the previous Congress government of Bhupinder Singh Hooda

Former Haryana [Congress]2 Time Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today slammed the state BJP government for allegedly working like a “trader” while turning a blind eye to the interests of the farmers and industrialists.
Asserting that his government had set up four thermal plants in the state, Hooda said the present dispensation is “selling” the power generated by these plants to other states.
“The BJP government is working like traders,” he said, adding, industries were leaving the state due to power shortage.
Taking a dig at Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar over his claim of bringing in foreign investment to the tune of Rs 10,000 crore, Hooda asked why should there be talk about foreign investment when “the present government has imposed 50 per cent hike in power tariff in a clandestine manner.”
He rued that farmers were facing problems as 1509 variety of paddy was not being procured in the state.
“The 1509 variety of paddy was procured at a rate of Rs 4000 per quintal during the previous Congress regime while now farmers are being looted by the government as this variety is purchased at Rs 1200 per quintal only,” he said.
He said in the coming days the government will miserably fail in procurement of Basmati variey of paddy in the state.
“The life of farmers has become miserable in the state due to power hike as they are not in a condition to pay their inflated electricity bills,” he said.

The ambitious Rs 939-crore project, which is being seen as a “harbinger” of regional development for the northern part of the country, will be operated and maintained by Chandigarh International Airport Ltd (CHIAL), a joint venture between Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the governments of Punjab and Haryana.
AAI has 51 % stake in the project while Punjab and Haryana have 24.5 per cent equity each.
Governor of Punjab and Haryana and Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh, Kaptan Singh Solanki, Union Minister for Civil Aviation, P Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his Haryana counterpart Manohar Lal Khattar were among those present on the occasion.

Brand Ambassador Baba Ramdev to set up Patanjali’s Ayush University At Kurukshetra

Brand Ambassador Baba Ram Dev today announced his plans to set up a university in Haryana, which will be established and controlled under his Haridwar-based Patanjali Yogpeeth.
BJP government in Haryana today decided to set up an AYUSH university at Kurukshetra, Ramdev also informed that he too plans to set up another university in the State, without elaborating about it.
“The Government will set up this university (at Kurukshetra), but we (under Patanjali) too will set up one. A resolution to this effect will be passed in Haryana Assembly soon,” Ramdev told media this evening.
When asked if he will seek any help from Manohar Lal Khattar government for setting up the university, Ramdev said, we will seek Only legal advice from State government,without any financial incentive.
Sh Khattar, who was also present in the press conference along with Brand Ambassador said, “Swami ji has multiple roles, one in which he runs his organisation like in Haridwar or in Haryana, the government will not have any role in this. He is Haryana’s brand ambassador for promotion of Yoga and Ayurveda, a role which he has accepted and we are seeking his guidance and moving forward on this.”
The Yoga Guru also indicated that after Uttrakhand, Haryana would be a major base for Patanjali.
He also said that it would be his endeavour to see that Haryana becomes a major hub of education, where value-based and moral education was imparted with modern education.
