The Minister of State (I/C) for Tourism, Shri. K J Alphons handed over a Memorandum of Understanding under the ‘Adopt a Heritage’ project to M/s Resbird Technologies for development of a mobile Audio Guide App for five iconic sites here, today. These five iconic sites are
Amer Fort (Rajasthan),
Kaziranga (Assam),
Colva Beach (Goa),
Kumarakom (Kerala) and
Mahabodhi Temple (Bihar).
During the function, the Minister also handed over the Letters of Intent to seven shortlisted agencies for consideration under the project in presence of Tourism Secretary, Shri Yogendra Tripathi.

M/s Dalmia Bharat Pvt. Ltd. for Khajuraho group of Monuments, Madhya Pradesh and Mahabalipuram Group of Monuments, Tamil Nadu
M/s Quality India Tours Pvt. Ltd. for Maharaja Chhatrasal Museum Complex in Madhya Pradesh
These agencies would become ‘Monument Mitras’ through the innovative concept of ‘Vision Bidding’, which will give them the opportunity to associate their CSR activities with a heritage site if the Vision Bid is selected.

Tourism Ministry States that
This is with reference to the news carried by some sections of the press on 01st and 02nd July 2018 with the headline “Red Fort, four other Delhi heritage sites get Monument Mitra”.
The Ministry of Tourism has clarified that all these articles had certain serious factual discrepancies and the correct position is stated as below:
1. The articles state that Monument Mitras have been appointed for Red Fort and four heritage sites in Delhi. But, it is clarified that Monument Mitra has been assigned to only one site in Delhi.
2. Further, the articles incorrectly stated that Caper Travel Company has been appointed as the Monument Mitra for four heritage sites in Delhi i.e. Azim Khan’s tomb, Jamali Kamali mosque & tomb, Rajaon Ki Baoli and Moth Ki Masjid. The Tourism Ministry has clarified that the said company’s vision document is presently under evaluation stage and no MoU has been signed with them.
It is pertinent to mention that the “Adopt a Heritage – Apni Dharohar Apni Pehchaan” is a collaborative effort by Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Culture, Archaeological Survey of India and State / UT Governments. It aims to encourage public / private sector companies and corporate citizens / NGOs / individuals to take up the responsibility of making our heritage and tourism more sustainable through development, operation and maintenance of World Class tourist infrastructure and amenities at ASI / State heritage sites and other important tourist sites in India.

7 Lakh Foreign Tourist Arrived in April

[New Delhi] Over 7 lakhs Foreign Tourist Arrivals in April 2018,
As per Ministry Of Tourism,FTAs in April 2018 were 7,49,477 as compared to 7,17,899 in April 2017 registering a growth of 4.4%.
During the month of April, 2018 a total of 1,57,094 tourist arrived on e-Tourist Visa as compared to 1,14,469 during the month of April, 2017 registering a growth of 37.2%.

[New Delhi]Hotels To Display Their Class Status at Reception& on their Websites
Ministry Of Tourism has made it mandatory for all the hotels classified under all categories to display their classification status prominently at the reception and on their websites under a separate icon on the opening page, which will display the order of classification issued by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
It is made clear that liquor shops/liquor stores in the premises of the hotel other than bars will not be considered for classification under star hotels “with alcohol” category

As per Compitation Of Ministry of Tourism monthly 2.41 Lakh Foreign Tourists Arrived on e-Tourist Visa
The number of FTAs in December, 2017 was 11.76 lakh as compared to FTAs of 10.21 lakh in December, 2016 and 9.13 lakh in December, 2015.
The growth rate in FTAs in December, 2017 over December, 2016 was 15.2%, compared to 11.9% in December, 2016 over December, 2015.
During the month of December, 2017, a total of 2.41 lakh foreign tourists arrived on e-Tourist Visa as compared to 1.62 lakh during the month of December, 2016 registering a growth of 48.3%.
In the year 2017, a total of 16.97 lakh foreign tourists arrived on e-Tourist Visa as compared to 10.80 lakh in 2016, registering a growth of 57.2%.

As per Ministry Of Tourism ,A total of
1,36,876 foreign tourists arrived in November 2016 on e-Tourist Visa as compared to
83,501 during the month of November 2015 registering a growth of
63.9%.
UK (22.3%) continues to occupy top slot followed by
USA (12.9%) and
Russian Fed (8.7%)
amongst countries availing e-tourist visa facility During November 2016.
The facility of e-Tourist Visa has been made available by the Government of India to the citizens of 155 countries, arriving at 16 International Airports in India.
The salient highlights of e-Tourist Visa for and up to the month of November, 2016 are as follows:-
(i)During the month of November, 2016 a total of 1,36,876 foreign tourists arrived on e-Tourist Visa as compared to 83,501 during the month of November, 2015 registering a growth of 63.9%.
(ii)During January- November 2016, a total of 9,17,446 tourist arrived on e-Tourist Visa as compared to 3,41,683 during January-November 2015, registering a growth of 168.5% .
(iii)This high growth may be attributed to introduction of e-Tourist Visa for 155 countries as against the earlier coverage of 113 countries.

(iv)The percentage shares of top 10 source countries availing e-Tourist Visa facilities during November, 2016 were ::
UK (22.3%),
USA (12.9%),
Russian Fed (8.7%),
France (6.3%),
China (6.1%),
Germany (4.6%),
Australia (4.1%),
Canada (3.6%),
Netherlands (1.8%) and
Ukraine (1.8%).
(v) The percentage shares of top 10 ports in tourist arrivals on e-Tourist Visa during November, 2016 were :
New Delhi Airport (44.99%),
Mumbai Airport (18.53%),
Dabolim (Goa) Airport (14.19%),
Chennai Airport (5.26%),
Bengaluru Airport (5.23%),
Kochi Airport (2.99%),
Kolkata Airport (2.32%),
Hyderabad Airport (1.94%),
Trivandrum Airport (1.32%) and

A total of
1,05,268 foreign tourists arrived in October 2016 on e-Tourist Visa as compared to
56,477 during the month of September 2015 registering a growth of
86.4%. UK (22.9%) continues to occupy top slot followed by
USA (12.1%) and
France (6.6%)
amongst countries availing e-tourist visa facility During October 2016.
The facility of e-Tourist Visa has been made available to the citizens of 150 countries, arriving at 16 International Airports in India.
The number of e-Tourist Visa availed by foreign tourists visiting India during the month of October, 2016 has registered a substantial growth rate over the corresponding month of 2015. The salient highlights of e-Tourist Visa for and upto the month of October during 2016 are as follows:-
(i)During the month of October, 2016 a total of 1,05,268 foreign tourists arrived on e-Tourist Visa as compared to 56,477 during the month of October, 2015 registering a growth of 86.4%.
(ii)During January- October 2016, a total of 7,80,570 tourist arrived on e-Tourist Visa as compared to 2,58,182 during January-October 2015, registering a growth of 202.3% .
(iii)This high growth may be attributed to introduction of e-Tourist Visa for 150 countries as against the earlier coverage of 113 countries.
(iv)The percentage shares of top 10 source countries availing e-Tourist Visa facilities during October, 2016 were as follows:
UK (22.9%), USA (12.1%), France (6.6%), China (5.8%), Russian Fed (5.6%), Germany (5.5%), Australia (4.5%), Canada (3.6%), Spain (2.3%) and Netherlands (2.1%).
(v)The percentage shares of top 10 ports in tourist arrivals on e-Tourist Visa during October, 2016 were as follows:-
New Delhi Airport (51.67%),
Mumbai Airport (18.65%),
Dabolim (Goa) Airport (6.20%),
Bengaluru Airport (5.18%),
Chennai Airport (4.97%),
Kochi Airport (3.15%),
Amritsar Airport (2.42%)
Hyderabad Airport (2.18%),
Kolkata Airport (2.08%) and
Trivandrum Airport (1.28%).

पर्यटन मंत्रालय,चीन को छोड़,ब्रिक्स देशों के पर्यटकों को भारत लाने में असफल

[नई दिल्ली]भारतीय पर्यटन मंत्रालय चीन को छोड़ कर ब्रिक्स देशों को आकर्षित करने में असफल
भारतीय पर्यटन मंत्रालय द्वारा जारी रिपोर्ट में ई-पर्यटक वीजा पर आने वाले पर्यटकों की संख्या में १११६.९% की वृद्धि का दावा किया है |
लेकिन ब्रिक्स[BRICS] देशों में से केवल चीन से ही पर्यटक आये हैं चीन के पर्यटकों की संख्या ९% बताई गई है|ई वीसा का लाभ उठाने वालों में ब्रिटैन और अमेरिका के पश्चात् चीन तीसरे स्थान पर है
ब्रिक्स में ब्राज़ील+रूस+इंडिया+चीन+साउथ अफ्रीका शामिल है आज कल भारत में इनके सम्मेलन भी आयोजित किये जा रहे हैं |ट्रेड फेयर से लेकर खेल और शिखर सम्मलेन तक की घोषणाएं की जा रही है |केंद्रीय मंत्री निर्मल सीतारमण द्वारा चीन और ब्राजील से और रूस से रक्षा समझौते किया जा रहे हैं ,लेकिन इन देशों से आने वाले पर्यटकों की संख्या पर स्वाभाविक प्रश्नचिन्ह लग रहा है|इन पांच देशों में से केवल चीन से ही पर्यटकों का आगमन हो रहा है
सितम्‍बर, 2016 में ई-पर्यटक वीजा पर कुल मिलाकर 68,809 पर्यटक आए, जबकि
सितम्‍बर, 2015 में 31,729 पर्यटक आए थे। इस तरह सितम्‍बर, 2016 में ई-पर्यटक वीजा पर आए पर्यटकों की संख्‍या में सितम्‍बर, 2015 की तुलना में 116.9 % की उल्‍लेखनीय वृद्धि दर्ज की गई है।
पर्यटक वीजा सुविधा का लाभ उठाने में
ब्रिटेन (15.5 प्रतिशत) शीर्ष स्‍थान पर रहा।
अमेरिका (12.4 प्रतिशत)
चीन (9 प्रतिशत) रहे।
ई-पर्यटक वीजा सुविधा भारत में 16 हवाई अड्डों पर 150 देशों के नागरिकों के लिए उपलब्‍ध है।
इस समय ब्रिक्स देशों का जमावड़ा भारत में हैं सभी मित्र देश हैं ऐसे में इन देशों से पर्यटकों का ना आना पर्यटन मंत्रालय की नीति पर सवाल जरूर खड़ा करता है |

Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Minister of State (I/C) for Tourism and Culture flagged off a Sightseeing Tour of the Monuments and Heritage places of Delhi for Divyang children on the occasion of World Tourism day 2016 here today.
This unique and noble way of celebration was organised by the Ministry of Tourism. 35 Divyang students from Class 2nd to 6th of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya School for Divyang Children, Minto Road, New Delhi participated in this Sightseeing Tour of many Monuments and Heritage places of Delhi.

At least 34 people have died due to chikungunya
In the wake of Spurt In Vector Borne Diseases Lt Governor Najeeb Jung today reviewed the condition of garbage dumps and directed municipal corporations to regularly collect the waste and keep the surrounding areas clean.
LG said that officials from Raj Niwas will regularly inspect the garbage dumps in the national capital and asked the civic agencies to pull up their socks.
Jung inspected the garbage dumps at
Angoori Khatta,
Asaf Ali Road and
Bela Road
and officials from the Lt Governor’s Secretariat visited 17 garbage disposal sites in the city.
The LG office in a statement said that after inspecting the garbage dumps, he directed MCD officers “to ensure regular operations of waste collection and removal”. He also asked them to keep the surrounding areas clean and sanitised to check the breeding of mosquito larvae.
Such visits will continue in the coming days,
The Special Secretary to the LG, along with Deputy Commissioner and Additional Commissioner of MCD, visited the Nanak Pyao garbage dump, it said.
On 20th September Officials, staff and students from the Ministry of Tourism’s institutions were seen undertaking symbolic cleaning at Nizamuddin Dargah, to observe cleanliness related theme based fortnight (Pakhwada) from 16th to 30th September, in New Delhi
.At least 34 people have died due to chikungunya and dengue which have affected close to 4,000 people in the city.
