Fighter Strike Leader Air Marshal V M Anil Khosla Is New Director General Air Operations,
Air Marshal Anil Khosla took over as Director General Air Operations at Air Headquarters in New Delhi on January 12, 2015..
An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, he was commissioned in the fighter stream of the Indian Air Force in December 1979.
He has over 4000 hours of flying experience having flown the Jaguar and MiG 21. He is equally experienced on both Ground attack and Air Defence roles with specialization on maritime role.
He is a post graduate from Defence Services Staff College (DSSC) and holds two M Phil degrees in military studies.
He is an ‘A2’ category flying instructor and a fighter strike leader. He is also an alumnus of National Defence College.
The Air Officer has vast instructional experience and has been Directing Staff at prestigious institutions like Tactics and Combat Development Establishment (TACDE) and Flying Instructor School (FIS).

He has commanded a Jaguar squadron with maritime role and two frontline bases of the IAF at Jaisalmer & Ambala. He has held various staff appointments at Air HQ. These include Principal Director at Directorate of Information and Electronic Warfare, Director in Personnel branch and Joint Director at Directorate of Concept Studies. In the rank of Air Vice Marshal, he has held the appointment of Air Officer Commanding HQ Maritime Air Operations and Air Officer Commanding J&K Area. His last appointment was as Senior Air Staff Officer, Central Air Command.
He is decorated with Presidential award – Vayusena Medal (VM).

Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha Chief of Air Staff, IAF reviewed the passing out parade of 126th course today at National Defence Academy, Khadakvasla, Pune. Three hundred and sixty cadets graduated from the National Defence Academy as they passed through the portals of prestigious Khetarpal Parade Ground.
The Chief Guest was received by Air Marshal Kulwant Singh Gill Commandant, National Defence Academy at the Parade Ground.
Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha, Chief of Air Staff, IAF while addressing the Passing-out Course cadets, complimented the immaculate turnout, excellent drill movements and high standard of parade.
In his address he said “The quality of the passing out parade speaks volumes of the fine training that is imparted by the Prestigious Institute”. He also congratulated the award winners for their outstanding performance in the entire spectrum of training curriculum over the last three years at the Academy.
NDA is one of the finest tri-services institutes in the world and is best in terms of infrastructure, size, capacity and quality of training. Rigorous training, inclusive of both physical and mental exercises has transformed the cadets into the excellent young warriors.
He complimented the instructors and Staff of the NDA for their dedication and commitment in nurturing, mentoring and grooming into potential military leaders.
He also congratulated the proud parents who supported their wards and encouraged them to pursue their dreams.
Academy Cadet Adjutant Rahul Kadian won the President’s Gold medal for standing first in overall order of merit, the Silver medal by Academy Cadet Captain Vivek Yadav for standing second in overall order of merit and the Bronze medal by Battalion Cadet Captain Surya Prakash for standing third in overall order of merit. The ‘NOVEMBER SQUADRON’ bagged the Chiefs of Staff Banner presented to the Champion Squadron. Fly pasts by Chetak helicopters trooping the National and NDA Flags followed by Super Dimonas, Pilatus & Jaguars in Vic formation. The Parade culminated with a grand finale by three Jaguars and three Su-30 aircraft carrying out a vertical maneuver marked the grand event.
