Nitin Gadkari Denies Reports on Reduction of MSP
Minister dubs such reports malicious and false
Gadkari stands for looking at ways to increase farmers income by finding alternative usage of their crops yielding them better returns
Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways and MSME Shri Nitin Gadkari has vehemently denied the reports in a section of media which have falsely quoted him as having said that MSP is likely to be reduced. He dubbed such reports not only as false but also malicious. Making a statement on the issue, Shri Gadkari has said that he always stood and advocated looking for various ways & means to increase farmers’ income including through alternative usage of their crops like paddy/rice, wheat, sugarcane. The Minister went on to assert that he himself was present when increase in MSP was announced hence there was no question of him standing for MSP reduction.
He expressed that providing better income to farmers was always the priority of the Government of India and it is in the same spirit that MSP has been raised. He further emphasised the need for exploring changes in crop pattern to provide better prices to farmers, for example growing edible oil seeds holds bright prospects since India spends about Rs 90000 crore on its import. Similarly, production of ethanol from rice/paddy/wheat/ corns will also not only give them better returns but also help save on import bill. Besides, these Biofuels are also more environment friendly, Shri Gadkari underlined.

“India Under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Sri @narendramodi ji, Our Govt. has decided to stop our share of water which used to flow to Pakistan. We will divert water from Eastern rivers and supply it to our people in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab.”
He said through Twitter “The construction of dam has started at Shahpur- Kandi on Ravi river. Moreover, UJH project will store our share of water for use in J&K and the balance water will flow from 2nd Ravi-BEAS Link to provide water to other basin states”

The northern region includes States of
Himachal Pradesh,
Punjab and
Rajasthan. There are six reservoirs under CWC monitoring having total live storage capacity of 18.01 BCM. The total live storage available in these reservoirs is 9.83 BCM which is 55% of total live storage capacity of these reservoirs. The storage during corresponding period of last year was 34% and average storage of last ten years during corresponding period was 36% of live storage capacity of these reservoirs.

Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari today launched three short films for generating public awareness towards road safety. Film actor Akshay Kumar has featured in these films, which are directed by R.Balki. Gadkari announced the appointment of Shri Akshay Kumar as Road Safety Brand Ambassador.
Akshay said, he feels proud to join the government’s efforts to make Indian roads safe, and is participating in road safety campaign for the betterment of the society.

Nitin Gadkari Ensures Transparent Fillip To Infrastructure Development

B J P’s Ex President Nitin Gadkari ,Today,Has Taken Charge as the Minister for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping
Shri Gadkari ,after taking the charge, Briefly interacted also with the newsmen.
Designer Of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana,Gadkari said that efforts will be made in a transparent manner to give fillip to infrastructure development under his ministry.
Shri Gadkari later held meetings with the officials of the Ministry and gave them his directions. The Minister said that inter-ministerial level discussions between the Secretaries of Shipping, Environment & Forests and Tourism could be held to further explore possibilities of developing inland waterways and tourism along the river Ganga.
Shri Nitin Gadkari is representing Nagpur Parliament Constituency in Maharashtra
The 57 year old senior BJP leader had earlier been the PWD (Public Works Department) Minister in the Maharashtra Government between 1995 & 1999. Gadkari has been a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council since 1989. He was also the leader of the opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Council from 1999-2005.
As Public Works minister in Maharashtra, he built the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. From that experience he was asked by the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to launch the National Highways Authority.
The Vajpayee Government appointed him the Chairman of National Rural Road Development Committee. After a series of meetings and studies, Gadkari submitted his report to the central government and gave a presentation to the Prime Minister Shri Vajpayee. His report was accepted and a new rural road connecting scheme now popularly known as Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana was launched.
He was the President of the Maharashtra Pradesh BJP till 2009 when he was elevated to the post of the BJP National President to become the youngest ever party president.
