Mehbooba Mufti Re-Elected Unanimously as PDP President
Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti was on Monday unanimously re-elected as president of the PDP for a three-year term.
Mufti’s name was proposed by senior leader Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura and seconded by Khurshid Alam, a party spokesperson said after the election.
Senior PDP leader Abdul Rehman Veeri was the chairman of party election board
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was formed in 1998 by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as a regional alternative to the National Conference.
The party was on the verge of split after the PDP-BJP coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir fell in June 2018.

Interacting with the media before winding up his visit, Rajnath Singh announced that a nodal officer will be designated in MHA to address the grievances of the people of Kashmir directly.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh met about 20 delegations of civil society+some more political parties+Pahari community leaders + several individuals on the second day of his visit to Srinagar today.
A six-member delegation of the resident Sikh community discussed with the Union Home Minister the concerns of minorities in the state.
A 3-member delegation of Panthers Party also met Shri Rajnath Singh.
Earlier a delegation of Coordination Committee of the Janata Dal (United) also met the Union Home Minister.
Later, the Chief Minister of J&K, Ms. Mehbooba Mufti met the Union Home Minister. The two leaders held detailed discussions on security situation and reviewed development projects.
The Union Home Minister also held a meeting with the Governor NN Vohra and State Cabinet Ministers led by Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Kumar Singh.

Rajnath Singh, accompanied by the Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi and Senior Officers of MHA, returned New Delhi later this afternoon.
During his two-day stay at the Nehru Guest House in Srinagar, the Union Home Minister held over ten meetings yesterday with a wide spectrum of political parties and chaired a meeting of Senior Officers of Security Agencies and State Government to review the security situation in the Kashmir Valley. Delegations of all major political parties including the state’s ruling PDP and BJP, main opposition National Conference, besides Congress, CPI(M), regional People’s Conference, People’s Democratic Front and Democratic Party Nationalists held talks with Rajnath Singh.
During his two-day visit the Union Home Minister met about 400 persons in 30 delegations and received their inputs on the J&K situation. He also appealed to the people to help maintain law & order and restore peace.
Mebooba said 95 % people want peaceful solution through dialogue, only five % derailing the process

The issue of reservations in promotions for government employees today rocked the Jammu and Kashmir assembly again even as government maintained that the issue cannot be discussed in the House as it was pending adjudication before the Supreme Court.
MLAs from opposition Congress+National Conference + ruling PDP-BJP stormed the Well of the House to register their protest against the alleged government inaction in restoring the reservation in promotions for government employees.
Congress leader Nawang Rigzin Jora conducted mock assembly proceedings in the well of the house after Speaker Kavinder Gupta refused to halt the Question Hour proceedings to discuss the issue of reservations.
The protesting members had enacted similar scenes on Tuesday as well.
Law Minister Abdul Haq Khan intervened in the matter and reiterated that the house can deliberate on the matter only after the apex court has delivered its verdict on it.
He said “The honourable members are aware that the matter is pending adjudication before the Supreme Court. Let the Supreme Court give its verdict and then we can take it forward,”
Not satisfied with the government statement, the agitating members staged a walkout from the house

जम्मू कश्मीर की मुख्यमंत्री पद के लिए नामित महबूबा मुफ्ती ने पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री उमर अबदुल्ला को चार अप्रैल को प्रस्तावित शपथ ग्रहण समारोह में शामिल होने का न्योता दिया है।
नेशनल कांफ्रेस के अध्यक्ष उमर अबदुल्ला ने सोशल नेटवर्क साइट ट्विटर पर लिखा,
‘‘महबूबा मुफ्ती के फोन करने और अपने शपथ ग्रहण समारोह में बुलाने से बहुत प्रसन्न हूं।’’ उमर अबदुल्ला ने लिखा, ‘‘मैं चार अप्रैल को समारोह में शामिल होने के बारे में सोच रहा हूं।’’
केन्द्रीय मंत्री वेंकैया नायडू और जितेन्द्र सिंह के भी सोमवार को होने वाली पीडीपी नेता महबूबा मुफ्ती के शपथ ग्रहण समारोह में शामिल होने की उम्मीद है।
उल्लेखनीय है कि चार अप्रैल को महबूबा मुफ्ती जम्मू कश्मीर की प्रथम महिला मुख्यमंत्री के तौर पर शपथ ग्रहण करेंगी।महबूबा मुफ़्ती की पार्टी पी डी पी+भाजपा ने उमर को सत्ता से बाहर किया था |और भाजपा +पी डी पी की सरकार बनाई |महबूबा के पिता की मृत्यु होने के कारन सीएम का पद खाली हुआ था जिस पर पार्टी ने महबूबा का नाम प्रस्तावित किया

Mehbooba Mufti was today unanimously elected as PDP legislature party leader, with a senior leader saying that she is the PDP nominee for the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister’s post.
The 56-year-old PDP President was elected the leader of the legislature party at a meeting of PDP MLAs, MLCs and MPs at her residence
Mehbooba is PDP’s nominee for the Chief Minister’s post, said senior party leader Muzaffar Baig after the meeting.
Mehbooba thanked the party legislators for showing faith in her leadership and electing her as the legislature party leader.

senior PDP leader and Lok Sabha member Muzaffar Hussain Baig said “As far as PDP is concerned, we are unanimous that Mehbooba shall succeed Mufti Sahib,”
However, Mehbooba’s ascent to the post of the Chief Minister would require approval of BJP, the junior coalition partner in the state government.
Although no one from the BJP has so far opposed Mehbooba’s elevation, a final decision on the issue will be taken by the party high command. In the 87-member J and K Assembly PDP won 28 seats and BJP 25 while opposition National Conference got 15 and Congress 12.
Unlike the long delay in stitching the alliance with PDP last year, the BJP will have to make up its mind quickly with the Budget Session of the Assembly slated to begin on January 18.
Mehbooba, who has assumed an image of a fiery leader, started her political career in 1996 by joining Congress along with her father.
The 56-year-old mother of two daughters is also president of the PDP. She won her first Assembly election as Congress candidate from her home segment of Bijbehara

दिल्ली की तिहाड़ जेल में 9 फरवरी 2013 में अफजल गुरु को फांसी पर चढ़ाया गया था। उसके मृत शरीर को अलगाववादियों का नायक बनने से रोकने के लिए जेल के अंदर ही दफना दिया गया था।उस समय को केंद्र में यूपीए की सरकार थी |
जम्मू-कश्मीर में पीडीपी संरक्षक और मुख्यमंत्री मुफ्ती मोहम्मद सईद के पाकिस्तान और आतंकियों को सराहे जाने के विवादास्पद बयान से उत्साहित पीडीपी के विधायकों ने सोमवार को अफजल गुरु के शव के अवशेषों को सौंपे जाने की मांग की।गुपचुप फांसी और फिर फिर शव को दफनाए जाने की प्रक्रिया पर रोष प्रगट किया गया है |
गौरतलब है कि कुछ साल पहले अफजल गुरु की सजा माफ करने का प्रस्ताव जम्मू-कश्मीर की विधानसभा में भी लाया गया था
यह पीडीपी का शुरू से ही स्टैंड रहा है |पी डी पी द्वारा अफजल गुरु के शव के अवशेष व अन्य सामान को उसके परिजनों को सौंपने के लिए हरसंभव प्रयास करने का यकीन दलिया जाता रहा है राज्यसभा के चुनाव में गुलाम नबी आजाद की जीत को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए कांग्रेस ने अफजल गुरु को फांसीका मुद्दा उठाया था
अब नई सरकार के बनते ही कांग्रेस और उसकी सहयोगी रही नेशनल कांफ्रेंस ने पीडीपी और भाजपा को घेरना शुरू कर दिया यहां तक कि लोक सभा की कार्यवाही भी बाधित की गई| मालूम हो कि प्रदेश में शांति बहाली के लिए मुफ़्ती मोहम्मद सईद ने पत्रकारों के एक उत्तर में अलगाव वादियों और पाकिस्तान को बदअमनी नहीं फ़ैलाने के लिए धन्यवाद दे दिया था जिसके लेकर कांग्रेस ने लोक सभा में उग्र तेवर दिखलाये |अब पी डी पी ने अफजल गुरु का मुद्दा उठा कर कही न कहीं कांग्रेस को ही कटघरे में खड़ा करने का प्रयास किया है

[जम्मू]पुरानी कहावत है कि सर मुंडाते ही ओले पढ़े जी हाँ यह कहावत फ़िलहाल जम्मू कश्मीर में बनी भाजपा और पीडीपी की नवनवेली सरकार पर फिट बैठ रही है यहाँ थोड़ा सा अंतर है एक ओले तो स्वयं मुख्य मंत्री मुफ़्ती मोहम्मद सईद ने आंमत्रित किये तो दूसरी और प्रकृति ने भी बारिश बरपा कर जम्मू कश्मीर के रास्ते बंद कर दिए
पीडीपी और भाजपा के बीच ६० दिनों तक ना नकुर करते हुए भी आखिरकार हाँ हो ही गई |जनता पार्टी कि सरकार की तरह ही धारा ३७० पर भाजपा नरम हुई तो अफस्पा को पीडीपी ने भविष्य पर छोड़ दिया|
रविवार को जम्मू विश्वविद्यालय के जनरल जोरावर सिंह आडिटोरियम में सुबह प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की उपस्थिति में पीडीपी के वरिष्ठ नेता मुफ्ती मोहम्मद सईद के नेतृत्व में गठबंधन सरकार का गठन हो गया। भाजपा ने जनता पार्टी में अपने विलय के इतिहास को दोहराते हुए यहां अपने राजनितिक और वैचारिक विरोधी के साथ गठबंधन बनाने में सफलता प्राप्त कर ही ली |इस सरकार में भाजपा के अपने नौ मंत्री सहित जम्मू से प्रोफ.डॉ निर्मल सिंह उपमुख्यमंत्री बनाये गए हैं |महिला विधायक प्रिया सेठी को भी शपथ दिलाई गई|
यहांतक सब कुछ व्यवस्थित चला |विधायकों ने ईश्वर गॉड+अल्लाह+खुदा के नाम पर हिंदी+उर्दू+इंग्लिश और डोगरी भाषाओं में पद भार ग्रहण किया |
लेकिन यह खुशगवार स्थिति शपथ ग्रहण समारोह के पश्चात आयोजित प्रेस कांफ्रेंस में फीकी पड़ गई
पीसी में सरकार का साँझा न्यूनतम कार्यक्रम बताया गया |बेहद सयम बरतते हुए भी मुफ़्ती साहब ने मुफ्त में ही मीडिया को मरा हुआ मुद्दा दे दिया
एक सवाल के जवाब में मुफ्ती ने राज्य में चुनावी माहौल बनाने का श्रेय पाकिस्तान और अलगाववादियों को भी दे दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि सीमा पार के लोगों ने माहौल को चुनाव के लायक बनाने में सहयोग दिया। अलगाववादी भी चाहते हैं कि राज्य में लोकतांत्रिक ढांचा बहाल हो।
अफस्पा हटाने के मुद्दे पर मुफ्ती ने कहा कि राज्य में शांति कायम करना अधिक महत्वपूर्ण है। उन्होंने कहा कि अफस्पा हटाने के लिए समयसीमा तय नहीं है। नए सीएम के अनुसार, सेना, सुरक्षाबल उनका निर्देश मानेंगे +सेना के कब्जे वाली जमीन हकदारों को मिलेगी |सेना स्कूल बनाएगी|
उन्होंने पाकिस्तान से बातचीत की प्रक्रिया शुरू होने के संकेत भी दिए |यदपि सीएम मुफ़्ती ने राज्य में विकास के लिए साम्प्रदाइक सद्भाव बनाने +पाकिस्तान के साथ संबंध सुधारने+अलगाव वादियों को साथ लेने की बात भी कही |भ्र्ष्टाचार के खात्मे के लिए अरविन्द केजरीवाल की स्टिंग कार्यप्रणाली पर भी टिपण्णी की मगर पाकिस्तान+अलगाववादियों द्वारा चुनाव में गड़बड़ी नहीं करने के लिए दिया गया धन्यवाद वायरल हो गया |कांग्रेस और नेशनल कांफ्रेंस ने भी सवाल उठाने शुरू कर दिए |कहा जाता है कि विपत्ति एक साथ नहीं आती सो मीडिया और विपक्ष की मार के पश्चात बरसात ने भी कहर ढा दिया |जम्मू कश्मीर को जोड़ने वाला सड़क मार्ग फ़िलहाल बंद हो गया है
