The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has extended greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of Pakistan on the occasion of the Independence Day of Pakistan (August 14, 2013)
In a message to his counter part in Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, the President has said, “on the occasion of the Independence Day of Pakistan, I have the pleasure of conveying, on behalf of the Government and the people of India, our felicitations to the Government and the people of Pakistan.
I take this opportunity to reiterate India`s commitment to building a friendly and cooperative relationship with Pakistan that leads to peace in our region and progress and prosperity of our peoples”.President of India to address the nation tomorrow on the eve of Independence Day 2013
Apart from the above Shri Mukherjee will address nation tomorrow on the eve of India’s 67th Independence Day.
The address will be telecast over all channels of Doordarshan in English from 7 P.M. onwards followed immediately by its Hindi translation. AIR will broadcast the regional language versions of the address over its regional channels from 9.30 P.M. onwards.

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has greeted fellow citizens on the occasion of Idu’l Fitr.
In his message the President has said, “I extend my greetings and best wishes to my fellow citizens on the auspicious occasion of Idu’ l Fitr.
Idu’l Fitr marks the culmination of the period of fasting and prayer during the holy month of ‘Ramzan’, and infuses in us a sense of brotherhood and spirit of joy. This festival with its spirit of giving and sharing inspires all to work towards building a harmonious, peaceful and prosperous society. Let us re-dedicate ourselves on this day to the service of humanity and to elevate the life of poor and the needy.
May Idu’ l Fitr instill in all of us a sense of the essential unity of all faiths and pride in the composite culture of India”.

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee congratulated Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II on the arrival of the youngest member of the Royal family.
In his message, the President said “The news of the safe arrival of the youngest member of the Royal family has been received with delight and happiness in India. On this joyous occasion, on behalf of the people and the Government of India and on my own behalf, I would like to convey my heartfelt congratulations to Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. दिल्ली की मुख्य मंत्री शीला दीक्षित से ग्यारह करोड़ रुपये वसूले जाएँ :लोकायुक्त मन मोहन सरीन की टेडी नज़र
निजी छवि को सुधारने के लिए छपवाए जा रहे विज्ञापनों में सरकारी धन के दुरूपयोग पर लोकायुक्त ने टेडी नज़र करते हुए दिल्ली कीमुख्य मंत्री शीला दीक्षित से ग्यारह करोड़ की रिकवरी की सिफारिश की है| लोकायुक्त जस्टिस मनमोहन सरीन ने बुधवार को विज्ञापनों में सरकारी धन के दुरुपयोग के मामले में राष्ट्रपति डा . प्रणव मुखर्जी से सिफारिश की है के दिल्ली की मुख्यमंत्री शीला दीक्षित को भविष्य में ऐसा न करने की ‘चेतावनी’ दी जाए और विज्ञापनों पर खर्च सरकारी 11 करोड़ रुपए वसूले जाएँ|आदेश में कहा गया है कि पूरे साल छपे विज्ञापनों में पूरा तारतम्य नजर आता है। लोकायुक्त ने अपने आदेश में कहा कि शीला दीक्षित ने न तो अपने ऊपर लगाए आरोपों को झूठा साबित करने की कोशिश की और न ही अभियान से संबंधित लेख के संबंध में यह सबूत पेश किए कि वह उनकी अनुमति के बगैर लिखा गया।
पिछले विधानसभा चुनाव वर्ष में विज्ञापनों पर 22 करोड़ 56 लाख रुपए खर्च किये गए थे इसका करीब 50 % रिकवर किये जाने की संतुति की गई है| इसे राजनीतिक फायदे के लिए खर्च किया बाते गया है| यह भी सुझाव दिया गया है कि यदि इस राशि को पर्याप्त न समझें तो राष्ट्रपति ज्यादा वसूलने का आदेश दें।
लोकायुक्त ने विज्ञापनों में सरकारी धन के इस्तेमाल को लेकर दिशानिर्देश बनाए जाने की भी सिफारिश की है
।’बदल रही है दिल्ली’,+ ‘परिवर्तन की डोर टूटे ना’,+ ‘डोन्ट स्टॉप क्लीन दिल्ली,+ ग्रीन दिल्ली’, आदि दर्जनों स्लोगन युक्त विज्ञापनों से शहर पटा हुआ दिखाई दे रहा था। इससे दिल्ली सरकार ने जनता के समक्ष सिर्फ अपनी पार्टी की बेहतर छवि बनाने के रूप में प्रयोग किया।77 पेज की मामले की सुनवाई व आदेश में उदय सहाय द्वारा लिखे गए लेख का उल्लेख करते बताया गया है कि मुख्यमंत्री ने एंटी इन्कम्बंसी फेक्टर को कम करने के लिए रणनीति तैयार की थी और उसके असर को कम करने के लिए इसे प्रचार अभियान में तब्दील किया।
भाजपा के तत्कालीन प्रदेश अध्यक्ष विजेंद्र गुप्ता की याचिका पर कराई जांच के आधार पर लोकायुक्त ने ७७ पेज के अपने आदेश में यह सिफारिश की है। गुप्ता ने आरोप लगाया था कि नवंबर २००८ के विधानसभा चुनाव में राजनीतिक फायदा पाने के लिए विज्ञापन अभियान में मुख्यमंत्री शीला दीक्षित ने अपने पद और सरकारी धन का दुरूपयोग किया। चुनाव के बाद जून, २००९ में एक अखबार में सूचना एवं प्रचार निदेशालय के निदेशक उदय सहाय के एक लेख को इस मामले का आधार बनाया गया, जिसमें यह बताया गया कि किस तरह सरकारी विज्ञापनों को रणनीति के तहत अभियान की तरह चलाया गया।
