[New Delhi]President ,Today,released a set of eight Commemorative Postage Stamps on Eight Legend Musicians
The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee released a set of eight Commemorative Postage Stamps on Indian Musicians at a function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan today
The set of stamps brought out by the Department of Posts feature luminaries in the field of classical Indian music namely [1]Pandit Ravi Shankar[2]Pandit Bhimsen Joshi[3]Ms. D.K. Pattammal[4] Pandit Mallikarjun Mansur[5] Ms. Gangubai Hangal[6]Pandit Kumar Gandharva[7]Ustad Vilayat Khan [8] Ustad Ali Akbar Khan.
Speaking on the occasion, the President stated that as we pay tribute to eight of the greatest music maestros of contemporary India, we celebrate their life and work and their matchless legacy.Minister For The Department Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad And Secretary Ms. Kavery Banerjee were also present
