[New Delhi] Air ports Employees To Defer the Strike Called for on 11 March
The Unions are protesting against privatization of four developed air ports
Employees union of state-run airports have deferred their strike call from tomorrow till further notice
This decision is taken after three conciliation meetings with the Chief Labour Commissioner.
Airports Authority of India Employees Union General Secretary Balraj Singh Ahlawat said
.”We have decided to defer our proposed strike on March 11 till further notice in the light of the conciliation proceedings held before the Chief Labour Commissioner ,”
Sh Ahlawat has reiterated that union shall continue its agitation against privatization of AAI airports

Govt.Has No Proposal to Privatize Airports But Still Adamant For Operation Of 4 Air Ports Through PPP. AAEU Has already given a call for strike against this decision
Presently, there is no proposal to privatize airports in the country. However, Government of India has initiated the process for undertaking operation, management and development of Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Jaipur airports through Public Private Partnership (PPP).This is based on the recommendations of Task Force on Financing Plan for Airports during 12th Five Year Plan period,Which was set up by erstwhile Planning Commission,Airport Authority Employees Union Has already given a call for strike, on 11 march,against this decision.
Airports Authority of India (AAI) has issued Request for Qualification documents on December 30, last year. The Government has asked AAI management to evolve a mechanism for protection of the interests of the employees deployed at the above four airports.
Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Dr. Mahesh Sharma in a written reply in Lok Sabha today.Informed that
his Ministry has framed a draft Civil Aviation Policy which provides, inter-alia, listing of AAI and Pawan Hans Helicopter Ltd. in the Stock Exchanges.

General Secretary of AAEU Balraj Singh Ahlawat has informed the Government of India about this decision of agitation.Sh Ahlawat has informed that agitating employees will start demonstration during lunch hours on alternative working days and total strike on 11th March
