Beni Prasad Verma (79)Dies,Akhilesh Yadav Condoles

(Lucknow,UP)SP Founding Member Beni Prasad Verma Dies
Beni Prasad Verma, a founding member of the Samajwadi Party and former Union minister who was considered close to party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav, died on Friday. He was 79.
The Rajya Sabha MP was not well for past few days. He was admitted to a private hospital in Lucknow, where he died around 7 pm
Verma was the telecom minister between 1996-1998 in then prime minister H D Deve Gowda’s cabinet and was the steel minister in the Congress-led UPA government.
Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav reached the hospital and condoled his death. Verma is survived by three sons and two daughters.

Samajwadi Party and Congress members staged a walkout from the Uttar Pradesh Assembly on Monday over the issue of baton charge on women protestors in Aligarh.
Soon after the House met at 11 am, Leader of Opposition Ram Govind Chowdhury of the Samajwadi Party raised the issue and alleged that women were lathi-charged and tear gas shells were fired during anti-CAA protests in Aligarh on Sunday.
In his reply, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna accused him of wasting time of the House by raising the same issue every time.
Unsatisfied, SP members staged a walkout from the House.
Congress legislative party leader Aradhana Mishra Mona too joined the SP and walked out, alleging that the government was committing atrocities on women protestors.
Clashes broke out between anti-CAA protesters and police in the old city area of Aligarh on Sunday following incidents of arson and stone pelting.

An instance of alleged power theft has come to light at a cold storage unit with a case having been booked against its owner,
As Per SP (City) Sarvan Kumar, the theft was discovered yesterday by a team of vigilance department officials when they raided the unit owned by one Rashid Siddiqui, who is said to be a local Samajwadi Party leader.
The case in the matter was lodged by Vigilance Inspector Narendra Singh at Kotwali police station.
