At a ceremony held today at 1230 hrs at Rashtrapati Bhavan, K.V. Chowdary was sworn in as the Central Vigilance Commissioner and Vijai Sharma was sworn in as Chief Information Commissioner.

Earlier this month, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and party vice president Rahul Gandhi had questioned the delay in appointments of chiefs of CIC, CVC and Lokpal by the Modi government.
Many RTI activists also questioned the delay in appointments.
Tenure of CIC Rajiv Mathur ended on August 22, 2014.

Arun Jaitley Visited EasternTheatre Behrampore Military Station W B

Defence Minister Shri Arun Jaitley Today visited Eastern Theatre and was briefed on the upcoming Behrampore Military Station, in Murshidabad District of West Bengal
General Dalbir Singh, COAS, who is on a visit to Eastern Theatre from 23 to 25 Aug 14 and Lt Gen MMS Rai, Eastern Army Commander were also present during the 30-minute briefing . This Briefing Was held near the camp site Where foundation plaque was earlier laid by the Hon`ble President, Shri Pranab Mukherjee in February 14.
The Rs. 600 Cr project in the 250-acre land is set to be an eco-friendly `model military camp` that will be replicated in all future infrastructural developments of similar military stations wherever feasible. This Project will also boost the local economy in the area.
Before leaving for Behrampore early today, Army Top Brass laid a wreath at the Vijay Smarak.
The Army Chief also visited Panagarh Military Camp where he took stock of on going preparations for raising of the Army`s Strike Corps. He thereafter left for a two-day visit of forward areas in the Eastern Sector

भारतीय सूचना सेवा के 2011, 2012 और 2013 बैच के प्रशिक्षु अधिकारियों के समूह ने आज 12 अप्रैल, 2014 को राष्ट्रपति भवन में राष्ट्रपति श्री प्रणब मुखर्जी से मुलाकात की।

इस अवसर पर राष्ट्रपति ने कहा कि ज्ञान शक्ति है और सूचना ज्ञान का आधार है। उन्होंने कहा कि भारतीय सूचना सेवा के अधिकारी लोगों तक सरकारी नीतियों और कार्यक्रमों के बारे में सूचना प्रसार-प्रचार के जरिए जनता और सरकार के बीच महत्वपूर्ण कड़ी के रूप में काम करते हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि सूचना के निर्बाध प्रवाह के इस युग में भारतीय सूचना सेवा के अधिकारियों को नीति निर्माताओं तक पहुंचने से पहले सूचना का विश्लेषण और महत्वपूर्ण समीक्षा करनी चाहिए ताकि वह नीति निर्माण के महत्वपूर्ण घटक के रूप में कार्य कर सके। उन्होंने कहा कि सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी और सोशल मीडिया के क्षेत्र में बदलाव की गति आश्चर्यजनक है। इसलिए अधिकारियों को प्रौद्योगिकी में क्रांतिकारी बदलाव के साथ कदमताल मिलाने के लिए अपने कौशल को निरंतर उन्नत करते रहने की जरूरत है ताकि राष्ट्र सेवा में उनका बेहतर उपयोग किया जा सके।

Trainee Officers Of State Civil Service called on the President of India

A group of Trainee Officers Of State Civil Service called on the President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan today (April 4, 2014).These Officers are attending the 115th Induction Training Programme at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie On this occasion President advised them to work for the unity and integrity of our country
Addressing the officers, the President stated that India’s federal structure is a basic feature of our constitution. The federal structure represents unity in diversity of our country. While performing their duties, civil servants would have to respect this aspect of our country. While the states represent separate parts of the whole, the nation is the collection of these parts. India, therefore, means the states. The road to our country’s development will, therefore, depend on the progress of our states. Yet, they have to have a national vision. They may belong to a particular state but they must always have a pan India perception to guide them. The President emphasized that they all, therefore, have the responsibility of strengthening the unity and integrity of our country. And unless they are firm in their resolve, our country would not be able to reach its rightful place in the comity of nations.
