बेगम अख्तर के जन्म सदी समारोह आज से शुरू हो गए हैं। एक समारोह में केन्द्रीय संस्कृति मंत्री श्रीयुत श्रीपद नाइक ने 100 रुपए और 5 रुपए के स्मारक सिक्के जारी किए। इस मौके पर दादरा गायिका डॉ. रीता गांगुली + ठुमरी गायक शशांक शेखर तथा गज़ल गायिका श्रीमती प्रभाती मुखर्जी ने प्रभावशाली कार्यक्रम पेश किए।
अख्तर बाई फैजाबादी को आम तौर पर बेगम अख्तर नाम से जाना जाता है। इनका जन्म अक्तूबर 07, 1914 –और देहावसान अक्तूबर 30, १९७४ को हुआ |
वह भारतीय शास्त्रीय गायन[ Hindustani classical music ]+ गज़ल+दादरा + ठुमरी की प्रसिद्द गायिका थीं। उन्हें गायिका के रूप में संगीत नाटक अकादमी पुरस्कार प्रदान किए गए और मरणोपरांत भारत सरकार ने उन्हें पद्मश्री और पद्म भूषण से सम्मानित किया।
उन्हें मल्लिका-ए-गज़ल का खिताब भी प्रदान किया गया। इस प्रतिभाशाली गायिका के 100 वर्ष की होने पर भारत सरकार ने इस मौके को यादगार बनाने का फैसला किया। इस उद्देश्य से एक राष्ट्रीय समिति गठित की गई है जिसके अध्यक्ष केन्द्रीय संस्कृति मंत्री हैं। यह समिति वर्ष भर मनाए जाने वाले कार्यक्रमों की रूपरेखा तैयार करेगी।
संस्कृति मंत्रालय के अनुसार बेगम अख्तर के सम्मान में दिल्ली+लखनऊ+हैदराबाद+भोपाल + कोलकाता में कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए जाएंगे।
उनकी कृतियों के वेब-पोर्टल, डीज़िटाइज़ेशन/ डॉक्यूमेंटेशन इत्यादि तैयार किए जाएंगे और प्रदर्शनियां, प्रकाशन, विचार गोष्ठियों का आयोजन किया जाएगा तथा युवा कलाकारों को छात्रवृत्तियां दी जाएंगी।शकील की रचना “ऐ मोहब्बत तेरे नाम पे “आज भी लोगों की जुबान पर है

Logo For Festival of India in China Is Launched In Both Countries :Year of Friendly Exchanges
The Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Shri Ravindra Singh launched the Logo for the Festival of India in China This Festival will be celebrated from May 2014 to March 2015,
Shri Ravindra Singh here today launched the logo+posters + webpage for the Festival of India in China which will be celebrated from May 2014 The same were simultaneously launched in Beijing by Shri Ashok K. Kantha Ambassador of India to Beijing.
The colorful logo designed for the Glimpses of India Festival consists of a Kathakali and a Beijing Opera mask side by side. It has been chosen to depict the Indian and Chinese cultures that are shown to be seamlessly blending into one another, thus mirroring the long tradition of friendship and cooperation between the two countries. The left side of the logo is a Kathakali mask from the classical Indian dance tradition that originated in Kerala. The right part of the mask derives from world famous Beijing Opera – a vivid embodiment of Chinese performing art. While the Kathakali dance involves delicate use of hand and eye gestures to communicate, masks in Beijing Opera symbolize different characters and emotions. This convergence of elements from great art forms of the two countries reflects the centuries-old civilizational contacts between India and China. Encompassed within a circle, a symbol of perfection, and with Indian and Chinese colors and motifs symbolizing happiness and celebration, the logo represents the spirit of cooperation and harmony underlying the ‘Glimpses of India Festival’.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ravindra Singh said that pursuant to the mutual understanding reached during the visit of the Chinese Premier Mr. Li Keqiang to India in May 2013 and that of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to China in October 2013, the year 2014 was designated as the India-China Year of Friendly Exchanges. As part of the Year of Friendly Exchanges, Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Embassy of India in Beijing, along with the Consulates in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong, are organizing the Festival of India in 12 cities in China.

इस अवसर पर भारतीय राष्ट्रपति ने डॉ अरबन का स्वागत करते हुए कहा कि भारत हंगरी के साथ संबंधों और राजनयिक संबंधों से काफी पहले से सांस्कृतिक संबंधों को खास महत्व देता है। उन्होंने खास तौर पर बताया कि संस्कृत को ईएलटीआई[ ELTI ] विश्वविद्यालय में 1873 में ही एक नियमित विषय के रुप में अध्ययन के लिए शामिल किया गया। उन्होंने उस कमरे के संरक्षण के लिए जहां इलाज के दौरान रबींद्रनाथ ठाकुर ठहरे थे और बालटनफर्ड शहर में टैगोर के नाम पर एक खूबसूरत घास के खुले मैदान को बनाने के लिए हंगरी सरकार के प्रति आभार व्यक्त किया।
राष्ट्रपति ने कहा कि पिछले कुछ वर्षों से लगातार हो रही द्विपक्षीय यात्राओं से दोनों देश हमारे द्विपक्षीय सहयोग को और मजबूत करने में सक्षम हुए हैं।
यह जानना संतोषजनक है कि हंगरी में कई क्षेत्रों में भारत का निवेश 1.5 अरब डॉलर के करीब है जिससे 8 हजार से अधिक हंगरी निवासियों को रोजगार मिला हुआ है।

द्वपक्षीय व्यापार भी 2007 में 398 मिलियन डॉलर से बढ़कर 2011 में 840 मिलियन डॉलर तक बढ़ गया है। हालांकि, यह संभावनाओं से काफी कम है। राष्ट्रपति ने कहा कि जैव-प्रौद्योगिकी+ स्वच्छ ऊर्जा+ कृषि + जल संसाधन प्रबंधन जैसे नए क्षेत्रों में भी विस्तार की संभावनाएं हैं।
राष्ट्रपति ने हंगरी के प्रधानमंत्री के साथ आए व्यापार प्रतिनिधिमंडलपर खुशी जाहिर कीऔर ये उम्मीद जताई कि भारतीय व्यापारियों से उनकी बातचीत में दोनों देशों के बीच आर्थिक संबंधों को और मजबूती प्रदानकरने वाले नए क्षेत्रों का उभार होगा।
राष्ट्रपति की बातों पर प्रतिक्रिया जाहिर करते हुए हंगरी के प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि हंगरी में भारत के महान संस्कृति और सभ्यता की काफी सराहना होती है। उन्होंने कहा कि हंगरी ही नहीं पूरे मध्य यूरोप में भारत के लिए सहयोग बढ़ाने की अपार संभावनाएं हैं जिससे भारत को पूरे यूरोप में अहम भूमिका निभाने में काफी मदद मिल सकती है। उन्होंने कहा कि संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद में स्थायी सदस्यता की भारत की मांग काफी उचित है और इससे वैश्विक शांति और सहयोग बढ़ाने में काफी मदद मिलेगी।
संस्कृति सचिव श्री रवींद्र सिंह तथा हंगरी के मानव संसाधन मंत्री जोलतन बालोग ने आज नई दिल्ली में ‘फ्रॉम आरगेनिक फार्मस टू लाइट आर्ट’ नामक समकालीन हंगरी कला प्रदर्शनी का उद्घाटन किया।

इस मौके पर श्री रवींद्र सिंह ने कहा कि भारत और हंगरी के संस्कृति संबंध पिछले कई मौकों पर विभिन्न आयामों के तहत दिखे हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि उन्हें यह देख प्रसन्नता हुई कि प्रदर्शनी को नेशनल गैलरी ऑफ मार्डन आर्ट ने साकार किया है और इसमें हंगरी की सांस्कृतिक विरासत के मूल को दिखाया गया है और इसका असर विश्व की संस्कृति पर पड़ा है। हंगरी के मानव संसाधन मंत्री ने कहा कि इस प्रदर्शनी के दो हिस्से हैं। पहले में आर्गेनिक हिस्से को दिखाया गया है और दूसरे में विज्ञान, तकनीक और कला के संबंधों पर आधारित लाइट आर्ट को दिखाया गया है।
यह प्रदर्शनी जनता के लिए 31 अक्तूबर 2013 तक खुली है।
