Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai, who recently underwent an operation for removal of a bullet stuck in his neck for 17 years, today arrived here for further treatment.
From Hyderabad he will go to Chennai also for treatment.
He is expected to return to Delhi after 20 days.
At Allahabad University in 1999.He was hit by a bullet during a demonstration
The bullet had over time migrated from the back of his neck to a burrow under the skin in the back of his body. He underwent the bullet removal surgery in Delhi last week.

[New Delhi]BJP Protest Over Auto Permit scam And Demands Removal Of AAP’s Transport Minister
Delhi BJP activists today staged a protest at Transport Minister Gopal Rai’s office demanding a probe by the ACB into the alleged irregularities in issuance of auto permits.
The protesters raising slogans against Delhi government also demanded resignation of Rai for the alleged auto permit scam in his department.
Anand Trivedi,” convenor of Delhi BJP’s transport cell. said “Mere suspension of three officials was just a cover up to save the higher ups involved in the scam. We have been demanding an investigation into the irregularities committed in issuing auto permits by the Anti Corruption Branch(ACB),
He said “We also demand a thorough probe into the scam including the role of the Transport minister in it,”
The BJP workers yesterday had staged a protest outside Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence, demanding his resignation over the alleged auto permit scam.
Delhi government on Saturday had scrapped more than 900 auto-rickshaw permits in Delhi after alleged irregularities in their allotment.
The government had also suspended three transport department officials

[New Delhi]Delhi(After Gurgaon) Prepares For Car-Free Day
Delhi government today formed a 12-member committee to make ‘Car-Free Day’ on October 22 a success.
Under “Aao Ab Bus Karein” campaign and its slogan ‘Jan Parivahan-Swasth Jeevan,’ government has decided to organise a cycle rally on October 22 in the morning.
Transport Minister Gopal Rai said that the agenda of this campaign focuses on use of public transport, one-family-one car, car pooling, cycling, lane driving, checking vehicles on time and walk for daily routine work.
“Before observing ‘Car-Free Day’ on the road stretch between Red Fort and India Gate, DPCC will be asked to check pollution level on this stretch so that we can measure impact of pollution level by the ‘Car-Free Day’,” Rai told reporters
He said that government has formed a committee having 12 members from DTC, DIMTS, Delhi Traffic Police, Delhi Police, DMRC, DPCC, PWD, MCD,NDMC, ASI, ITDP and EMBARQ.
