[Chd,Pb]Main Opposition In Punjab AAP Demands Budget Session Extended
Aam Aadmi Party, today urged the Assembly Speaker, Rana K P Singh, to extend the forthcoming budget session.
AAP leader Kanwar Sandhu sought at least 15 sittings during the session.
The session is slated till March 28,
As per Sandhu it is expected to have six or seven sittings only due to a holiday and the week-end between the duration of the session,
Kharar MLA said ,Leader of Opposition, Sukhpal Singh Khaira, also demanded that the Session be extended to the second week of April.
The AAP MLA said that Punjab was today facing a “severe crisis” forcing the people to head for foreign countries.
“Future generations would not forgive us for neglecting the vital issues plaguing the state. These can be addressed only through discussion and debate and not by pushing them under the carpet,” Sandhu said.
On behalf of the AAP, Kanwar Sandhu listed out 11 issues in its “business of the party” which included the state of Punjab’s finances, the Congress party’s manifesto, farm debt and joblessness.

Domestic carriers IndiGo and GoAir cancelled around 50 flights today
as
almost one-third of their A320 Neo aircraft fleet remained grounded for the third day following a safety directive by the country’s aviation watchdog DGCA.
Of the 48 flights, which are not being operated as part of the curtailed schedule,
42 are of IndiGo and six of GoAir.Suresh Prabhu has taken over charge of Ministry of Civil Aviation He has Encouraged DGCA Since then DGCA Has taken strong safety measures and issued directions to These Carriers with Questionable Engines as a result of which These Airlines are forced to ground their planes with Defective Engines.These two carriers had yesterday said they were taking measures to minimise inconvenience to the passengers whose flights have been cancelled by booking them on alternative flights as well giving them the option of cancelling or rescheduling their travel without any extra cost. But these are not seen in airports.Fliers of these carriers are cursed to suffer.
IndiGo has cancelled 42 flights for March 14.
This includes flights to Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, Jaipur, Srinagar, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Dehradun, Amritsar, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, among others,
Wadia Group-promoted GoAir had cancelled a total of six flights today due to the grounding of three of its A320 Neo planes, as against 18 yesterday.
IndiGo operates over 1,000 daily flights while
GoAir offers 230 services daily.
Yesterday, these two airlines together had cancelled over 65 flights, with IndiGo alone cancelling over 47 services, due to the grounding of their 11 aircraft — eight of IndiGo and three of GoAir —
There are a total of 45 A320 Neo planes fitted with P&W’s Underfire engines with the two airlines.
Of these, IndiGo has 33 and GoAir 12 planes. The cancellation of services in a large number has put thousands of passengers at inconvenience as they had pre-booked these flights amid the concerns of exorbitant fares which are charged by the carriers for last-minute travel.

Shares of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) fell by 5.22 per cent to Rs 2,892.45 following reports that its promoter Tata Sons is planning to raise around Rs 8,200 crore by selling stake in the IT major.
The benchmark BSE Sensex gave up its early gains to close lower by 61.16 points at 33,856.78 today mainly due to profit booking in the last hour of the trade after recent gains.
The broader NSE Nifty managed to end higher for the second day at 10,426.85, up by 5.45 points or 0.05 per cent after shuttling between 10,478.60 and 10,377.85, intra-day.

Prabhu took over the additional charge of Civil Aviation Ministry on Monday.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has grounded 11 A320 neo planes powered with a certain series of Pratt & Whitney engines following three incidents of mid-air engine failures in less than a month.
A total of 14 A320 neo aircraft fitted with a specific series of engines — 11 operated by IndiGo and 3 by GoAir — have now been grounded. Three IndiGo planes were grounded last month.

V K Jain, has resigned citing personal reasons and family commitments, Yesterday he was questioned by police in connection with the alleged assault on Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash, .
He was appointed to the post in September last year, days after he had retired as the CEO of the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB).
Anshu Prakash was allegedly assaulted by AAP MLAs during a meeting at the chief minister’s residence in the evening of February 19.
As per Delhi Police Jain disclosed that AAP MLAs Prakash Jarwal and Amanatullah Khan surrounded the chief secretary and saw them assaulting him at Kejriwal’s residence.
